    Default what i believe....

this is a bible study i came up with when i first searched for God. its pretty much the basics of what christianity is, how to obtain salvation, how to live a christian life, and what a TRUE christian is supposed to be.........

WHY YOU NEED GOD IN YOUR LIFE- romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

WHY WE NEED JESUS- romans 3:23-26
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

JESUS IS GOD IN FLESH- john 10:30,john 14:8-11
" I and my Father are ONE." 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

WHY WE CANT SAVE OURSELVES CUZ WE ARE "GOOD PEOPLE"- isaiah 64:6
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

mark 8:34-38 IF YOU WANT TO SEEK GOD WHAT DO YOU DO?-
"and when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also,he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. for whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. for what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation: of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."

mark 9:14-29 faith, prayer, fasting, why its important
"and when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them. and straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him. and he asked the scribes, what question ye with them? and one of the multitude answered and said, Master, i have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; and wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and i spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. He answereth him and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall i be with you? how long shall i suffer you? bring him unto me. and they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. and he asked his father, how long is it ago since this came unto him? and he said, of a child. and oftimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him; but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. and straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, i believe; help thou my unbelief. when Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, thou dumb and deaf spirit, i charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. and the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, he is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. and when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, why could not we cast him out? and he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting"- with faith, sometimes you can only see change with constant prayer and fasting.

    FAITH- luke 7:36-50
Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat. 37 And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, 38 and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. 39 Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, “This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.”
40 And Jesus answered and said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.”
So he said, “Teacher, say it.”
41 “There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42 And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?”
43 Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.”
And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.” 44 Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. 45 You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. 46 You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. 47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
48 Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

PATH OF GOD IS NARROW-luke 13:22-30

22 "And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. 23 Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?”
And He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ 26 then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’ 27 But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’ 28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. 29 They will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God. 30 And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”

john 1:1-17 Gods word and Jesus as God
    The Eternal Word

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend[a] it.
    John’s Witness: The True Light

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.[b]
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own,[c] and His own[d] did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
    The Word Becomes Flesh

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’”
16 And[e] of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

    IMPORTANCE OF BAPTISM- john 3:3
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

IMPORTANCE OF WATER BAPTISM AND FILLING OF HOLY GHOST-john 3:4-6
Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

BAPTISM- in what name? acts 2:38
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

FILLING OF THE HOLY GHOST AND SPEAKING IN TONGUES-acts 2:1-4
1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord[a] in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

    BELIEVE IN JESUS- john 11:25-26
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?

    WHAT IS FAITH? hebrews 11:1
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

HOW DO YOU GET FAITH? romans 10:17
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

    Hebrews 5:12-14 LEVELS OF FAITH-

12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

    FAITH PLEASES GOD-hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

    HEARING GOD- hebrews 3:15

“ Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”[a]

Steven King's "IT" was a pretty cool book too, IT was a bad motherfucker as well.

In "IT"...He apparently originated in a void containing and surrounding the universe, a place referred to in the novel as the "Macroverse".

"IT's" natural enemy is "The Turtle", another ancient Macroverse dweller who, eons ago, created our universe and possibly others. The Turtle shows up again in King's series The Dark Tower.
The book suggests that IT, along with the Turtle, are themselves creations of a separate, omnipotent creator referred to as "the Other". The Turtle and "IT" are eternal enemies, though "IT" tells the main character Bill that the Turtle died a few years ago when he "puked in his shell and choked to death on a galaxy or two". "IT" arrived in our world in a massive, cataclysmic event similar to an asteroid impact, in the place that would, in time, become Derry, Maine.

But "IT" is not nearly quite the evil son of a bitch as god is depicted in the bible. If you are looking for a good horror story filled with death, carnage, and unremorseful if not absolutely inhuman supernatural beings that want nothing better than to inflict pain and wanton destruction on humans, then the bible is certainly a good choice.

Maaaaan, you must be sippin dat purp. Either that or you're munching of those Jesus beans on a daily basis. Cause seriously you must be out of your mind if you believe that your consciousness is able to exist posthumously.

"I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."

So your saying, that one must receive the holy spirit to enter heaven?
Not accept Jesus (though I'm not suggesting its not part of the process), but receive the holy spirit.

jorgen- yes i do believe you need the Holy Spirit to enter into heaven. the bible lays out the plan of salvation as this: to believe on Jesus and accept Him into your life as Lord and see your need for Him as a savior. which will then lead you to repentance of your sins and baptism in Jesus name ( for there is none other name given to man by which we must be saved ) and then God promises to fill you with the Holy Spirit as a comforter, regenerator, and power and authority.

Here's your virtual tour of hell, since you think its not such a bad place to be:

    geoff,
I was raised to believe that if I just accept Jesus that was it. That answer was never good enough for me. It made no sense. I knew there was more to it than that.

jorgen- my friend thats the way it is for most. you CANT be saved by a prayer and the notion that " once saved always saved" is NOT true. there is no biblical evidence of this. the bible actually says the contrary. my friend you are on the right path. believing on Jesus is just the start. there is so much more of a deep relationship with our God. if you have any questions or anything you can pm me any time you want. i have been talking to a few guys on here and we are wanting to get a bible study group going. lmk if your interested. i pray that God would bless you with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding and that He will build up your faith and lead you to freedom and truth.

I like my Religeon just fine.

You know what i like most about it?

It never EVER forces people of different faiths to accept its views.

Get what I'm saying? No. You don't. You were brainwashed long ago.

How could anyone ever respect a faith which cause people to think like you? You're no different than a member of a cult.

In fact, Scientology makes more sense than the nonsense you choose to spew out.

Are you gonna give me another passage from your bible day? Cause i'll follow it up with more AC/DC.

What "you believe" is silly, and is harmful to the world in general. Christians ALWAYS have to be right about God and which religion is correct, or which sect of their own religion is right. Why does it matter who is right? Live that shit "you believe" out and we'll see what happens when we are dead.

christians are the cause of the problems in the world? oh yes i forgot we are commiting all the genocide, we are robbing the poor, we are killing babies, we are doing all this in the name of Jesus right? no my friends, its the moralless, valueless, selfish, ungodly men that are doing the destruction you see around you. i had something amazing happen today that just re-affirmed my faith even more and proved to me that Gods' Word is alive. i started a demolition job today of a burnt down house. everything inside and out was ashes. as i was picking up the remains this is what i found. the ONLY SINGLE thing left in the house.

the covers were melted, the edges completely charred, BUT NOT ONE PAGE OR WORD WAS TOUCHED!!!!!! EVERYTHING else in the house was burnt beyond recognition.

What if it was the book, "Dianetics" by L. Ron Hubbard? Would that make you want to be a Scientolotist? What if it was porn? It doesn't prove that a book can stop itself from being burnt, because it is charred to hell and back.

What do you pray from? You're too insane to be a Christian so i doubt its a normal bible.

Remember. We've come to the conclusion you are a cult member.

    Kinda like Charles Manson.

He does have that "don't drink the cool-aid" kinda vibe about him

A couple of months ago, when it was warmer out....I went to the Sonic meet out here in gwinnett and there were about maybe 3-4 christian evangelicals holding up white poster boards with "REPENT NOW" and "JESUS SAVES" mantra scrawled on them, and there was this guy actually bullhorning the Sonic parking lot! He had a microphone and a fucking P.A. system and was saying the same things this guy Geoff says identically right down the line. People were starting to get really pissed off.

You could just kind of feel the tension in the air like the guy was about to get that mic cord wrapped around his throat. If I remember right a couple of guys stepped up and started hitting on the young girls that were holding up the posterboards (which I thought was a phenomenal idea) to get rid of them, and they eventually fucked off.

Im starting to think this guy Geoff might actually be the same guy...Was that you Geoff?

Don't waste your breath, do something useful with your life. I swear by every cell in my body it won't do anything to change me or the way I feel.

no dont have the courage to do something like that yet.i guess we can just agree to disagree. apparently i stick by my beliefs as strong as you guys do. and to ej25run, the difference you see in me and others is that i actually practice what i preach. if you think im so crazy why dont you come with me with your boldness and surety that im so wrong to a service and see for yourself what makes me insane. i challenge you.
