Which Armed Forces should I join?

Also, I'm looking to go into a field that ultimately will lead me to a civilian career in robotics.

at least your thinking about it and not just jumping into whatever one branch says theyll give you /cough cough... infantry/ lol i know allotta guys that just got conned into taking jobs that they never wanted in the first place.

Nah, the way I see it, if I'm going in for what, 4 years? I'm going to damn well do something that I want to do for 4 years, and hopefully make a career out of it in the civilian world.

AF is safest,my bro did it for 4 years,had a kush job as a photographer goin up in jets and shit taking pictures,got 3g's a month and lived for free on base pretty much.

Don't knock the infantry life until you try it. To the OP, just a little FYI Army UAV's are flown by enlisted people, not officers.;)

Been in 8 years as Airborne Infantry, minus 3 years as a recruiter. First figure out your goals that you want to achieve during and after your service. Pick a job that will help you down that path. I will say Army has most of the jobs the other branches offer and normally has better promotion rates also.

im not knocking it. every time i train, its with the infantry. medics dont do any good in the field unless we are able to work efficiently with the infantry. every thing they do, i do with an extra bag on my back.... and some of the others carry my extra shit! :crazy: but yah im just saying that they try to con people into taking jobs that need to be filled at the time instead of letting them get the jobs they want.

To be honest I did some research last night on my own about the Air Force. I even talked to a airman through on online chat through their website. I'm going to try to enlist after my son is 6 mths old.

You are better off going in for infantry or maybe attempt to get a Ranger contract if you eventually wanna go SF. most people off the street do not make it through the training and a few years experience under your belt highly increases your chances of success. If you don't believe me you can ask several of my soldiers that are "SF babies" that didn't pass Selection and got sent to us.
