Default Springfield MilSpec 1911 instock @ AO

Adventure Outdoors has a milspec model in stock for $609. Not many, if any of you will care, but back when i was hunting for one they were a PITA to find and i still see used GI models (one step below) going for practically this price. As far as i know they are still a pain to find.

Just a friendly heads up to anyone he is starting to get the 1911 itch! They go for 700-770 on gunbroker, plus shipping and transfer ($50 minimum)

"The 1911 is a collection of subsystems that must work together. Each part must be prepared and fit properly not only in and of itself, but also with regard to the other parts with which it must operate for the gun to function and appear as desired."

Factory sights suck. Everything else is sex. I will be upgrading the sights as soon as I have the money. Pics not possible now. I'm doing all my interneting via iPhone for the next month. I forgot how little recoil these things have. The trigger is fantastic out of the box. I will be spending some money on this firearm in the coming months.

2 best mods for your milspec will be to do a full dehorn, and a complete trigger group. Also i went with the extended thumb safety, ALOT easier on the thumb when ran hard.

The only thing IMO that actually sucks on these guns from the factory is all the sharp edges, these things will get you bleeding in no time at all when running hard. Thus why i say a full dehorn is my favorite mod to this particular 1911 and all others too.

post up when your ready to do some modding.

also, you really dont like the sights that much? I think they are just fine. what is it about them you dont like?

congrats again on the purchase, i think you will have a ton of fun with this tool.

I think the front sight is crooked. It looks weird when aiming. I want to get some red and green fiberoptics.

You will regret getting fiberoptic sights. Trust me on this one. If your looking for anything with a tridium type sight look into xs sights. there a inexpensive entry level sight.

AO usually has a handful on the shelf, mostly new, but a couple used here and there.

for a factory gun i have heard they are pretty decent.

Springfield 1911s are from Brazil, they are all forged there by IMBEL. Final fitting and finish is either done in the US or in Brazil (N frames are brazilian, and have the "IMBEL BRAZIL" logo stamped into the frame).

XDs are made, fitted and finished in Croatia by HS Produkt. Springfield owns the import license for the gun to the USA, they chose to relabel the gun as the "XD".

Should be noted that IMBEL does outstanding forgings. But their fit and finish is lacking sometimes (thus the desire to have the NM frames).
