They're pretty awesome but I couldn't have one. I would tear it up within a couple days.

It's easy not to destory one. Just run it in an open area and make sure that the tune is good.

good luck! but i can be done ;) i'm running brushless in my stampede and cant keep the front end down lol. might need to ballast it a little in the front.
good luck with that. youll need to start a mamba MAX brushless motor and at least 6S lipo batteries to start lookin for that speed.Quote:

Kyosho Inferno GT2
Ofna LX 1
2 HPI Firestorms
HPI RS4 w/ the 3.0cc engine.
I love r/c, but it is SOOO damn expensive. My Kyosho:

I have a mamba max esc and a mamba max 9000KV motor
6s would fry the motor it can do it on 2s and 3s
i would have loved to have taking that Kyosho Inferno GT2 off your hands.
i had a jato 3.3 and it was a pos. biggest waste of money. engine locked up and i bought another one and it ran like hell. put a 2.5 on it and it was a damn little beast.
i have a Jato 3.3 and never had a problem with it. Runs great a can bring the front up going into 2nd gear.
tuning those damn things for the weather is too aggravating for me. spur of the moment thing. wasted a grand in that mess.
money can go very fast in this hobby.
Traxxas products are a hit and miss.
My co-worker has a 2.5 T-maxx and it has had so many issues while other 2.5 owners have had zero.

Thats true, I few but not many problems with my 4 tec but it handled so bad even with foams and a good setup so i sold it.
My HPI was amazing. I couldn't run it on foams though b/c it brought the car too low for the stock suspension. BOO. But they are hella fun. My GT2 was amazing, but 60 bucks a set of tires a day, nay nay. I wasnt having it anymore. I do miss my Spektrum DX3s though.

how was that radio i have a DX2.0
I had collection back in the day...serpent 710 for race, Tmaxx, all kinds of R/Cs in the world. too much money spent on these
I loved it. It was very easy to figure out and adjust and it looked badass.Quote:

Can't believe I've missed this thread for so long! That's what I get for never coming into this forum.
So I've been into R/C for a while, starting with a Micro RS4, then an electric Evader (I'm cheap), then an RS4 3 Evo, and a Pro 4 recently. The Evo is my favorite by far, because I feel like electric just kind of sucks in comparison. I need the noise and the nitro smell and all that. I've had this thing for probably 5 years, and for the majority of that time I've wanted to make custom parts. This summer I'm working in a lab with access to the appropriate machines, so I took the plunge and ordered 1/8" (3.18-mm) 7075T6 aluminum sheet. The results:

Evo with new friend, Pro 4 I picked up on eBay. This is pre-teardown.

I'm excited to see how this thing works for me. It's quite a bit smaller than the stock Airtronics AM transmitter, uses half the batteries...

Check out the difference in size between the 2.4 GHz and AM receivers... impressive!
That's all I've got for tonight. The chassis is not quite done, and while it came out very well in my opinion it's not perfect. The front differential case (whatever it's called) slot is a couple mm from where it needs to be, so I will be working with Mr. Dremel soon to fix that. I also need to go back and countersink most of the chassis holes. I'll probably sandblast the chassis after all adjustments are made, and take it to the lasercutter to put a nice little logo on it. I'll also look into the bends on the chassis sides.
You might be wondering why I made an aluminum bumper plate and steering linkage. The answer is boredom, and desire to cut cool stuff for the hell of it. I realize that the stock pieces were just fine, but hey, these should work well too. And if the front bumper brace actually gets bent in a crash, I have the CAD file and a massive amount of 7075 sheet left.
The steering spacers I made mostly because I lost 1 of the 4 stockers, and they're close to 1/8" thick as it is. I figure any additional friction they cause from being metal will be insignificant considering the rotational speed demands of a steering linkage.
I won't be able to wrap up work on the chassis and other parts until Monday, but with some luck I should be running by the middle of next week. I've got a pretty huge amount of leftover material, and I'm considering the idea of producing parts for sale.
^ Wow! Great work on that Chassis!
My old 2.5 T-Maxx. It's a lot of fun but I don't really have much time for it anymore.

http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o.../T-Maxx3-1.jpg
Thanks man, I've already developed a lower-weight new version that corrects the hole placement error and cuts out some more material.
I've always wanted a monster, but it's just out of my price range for now. One day I'll pick one up...
nice cars you two. I guess I'll post pics of my brushless TC4 soon. I'm still trying to determine which battery to get. I've seen a few Mamba 9000 on 3s but the motor is rated for 2s.
any trades check out my threads i like all of them just pm me and we will talk
So all the new parts work out well. I have a guy on an R/C forum who messaged me asking if I'd give him a copy of my CAD file for my custom chassis. He wants to have one cut from carbon fiber, which I'm not sure is a good idea for a 1/10 nitro chassis, but he claims to have no CAD experience and basically wants to take my SolidWorks file into a shop and have it made for him.
I'm a little reluctant. I don't care about making money, but I'm worried about protecting my design. Should I send him the file?
I say make your chassis and sell one to him!
^ thats what i would do and not send the cad file.
almost forgot i may have a chasis that i would like for you to work on or design to retro fit my fusion .21 drive train
I can't believe what you just posted man!Quote:

I been into these for a decent time. I only have 3 now though. Not a whole lot done to them. Only have pics of one though.
I've got an HPI Savage 2.5, running a 4.6 motor, thats it.
Got an old Duratrax Nitro Quake. With a 3.0 Torq motor. Nothing done to it.
Then i've got my Associated MGT. Pictures show it with the factory 21 AE motor, 13t bell and a 51t slipper gear, Tuned pipe, minor suspension, the pipe I anodized myself using the battery charger and clothing dye method. The wheels are RPM dyable's which I dyed. Idr the tire brand, I havent had it out in a while, being as the front skid plate is bent which also holds the steering points in place.
Now its also running the 4.6 motor, HPI tuned pipe, 18t bell, 47t slipper, no 2nd gear. Reverse removed. Billet body shocks, quick steering and throttle servo's. and a roll cage I built myself out of the stock spokes from my KX250F after I crushed a wheel :). I'm fuzzy as can be on the parts names, I dont have the truck here, or i'd pull her out and tell ya.
I've also relocated the throttle/brake servo, for even quicker response :)
Anyway here's my bitch :)
