I used to be really big into stunt skiing, had two yamaha super jets with a shit load of money sunk into them and a kawasaki stand up that we kinda just sunk, we always went to cocktail cove and harassed the boats.

I was just given a Stingray 180 inboard that has been sitting outside for 5 years without the cover on it. That is my current project. I should be done cleaning it today and then I have to get it serviced. I'm excited to finally get into boating, even though its just another money pit.

Your starting with a realitvly affordable boat to run, so thats a plus. Get her cleaned up and be sure to post pics! I assume your somewhat mechanically inclined (on a car forum), you can probably do most of the engine maintenance yourself. This would say you BIG bucks every season. Which equates to more money for the fuel tanks

I love boating. I am up a Allatoona everyweekend pretty much. All the fast boats hang out up at party cove. I ride a superjet and the fam has a carver.

I chill on the lake, i dont usually do the party thing. Allthough partys are not hard to find, especially on Lanier.

My brothers, myself and friends used to be into the jet ski thing when we were young but now its just lame and costs way too much to ride. The real shit is a wakeboard boat, its big money but thats the real fun on the water. Tubing, skiing, wakeboarding, etc... Thats WAY more fun than riding jet skis, uses less fuel and entertains more. Its about time for a new boat, the 23yr old runs great but the hull is showing some wear.

wakeboarding is real, but so is riding. Just because you rode couches all your life doesnt mean riding isnt badass. cause it can be, i promise.

true, but its like most hobbies, its all about what YOU like. That 30ft cabin cruiser is usless to a boat full of boarders lol. and that tow boat is usless to a family of 5 (most likley).

In boating, its best to buy what suits your familys needs best, then get friends that have the wakeboard boat, the go fast boat, and jetskis or whatever, then everyone shares. In the end everyone wins, because there isnt a single boat that usually will be optimal for the average crowd of people.
if that makes any sense haha

Jake (4uh8ters), Paul(Paul_S), and I are always on the lake wakeboarding and just hanging out. My pops owns a place on the north end of Lake Lanier. I usually only wakeboard during the week though. The weekends are full of tubers are yahoos on their jetskis chewing up the water. We have a Mastercraft Stars & Stripes and had a Toyota Epic wakeboarding boat.

Get the Supra. Have an older, late 80s Supra with the 351 Windsor... It is on Allatoona. Great boat.

Can't even find a pic of our actual boat. Same year and same color though. We have a Monster Tower on ours and not the tower pictured but you get the idea. The 351 Windsor is a GREAT motor and you can straight yank someone up out of the water.
