I was wondering how much you all pay, for the amount of bedrooms you have...also, where are you located?

But $900+ a month up in the suburbs can get you a nice home. If your going to throw away that amount of money a month it should be in something you can call yoursOriginally Posted by quickdodge®

Lease to own would be perfect in your situation then...but i'd make sure you had a good lawyer to go over the contract first. It's too easy to get screwed if you're not going through a traditional bank or mortgage company.Originally Posted by quickdodge®
I know a few property management companies have been offering to put the money you spend on a lease through them towards a down payment or mortgage on a house (some of the larger ones that have joint construction companies). I think it's win win scenerio...may not be the time to get a house but still technically not throwing the money away yet they are still profiting from it.![]()
Does that include property tax? Fulton county rapes me.Originally Posted by admin

A couple of things to remember when discussing this:
#1 Can't compare mortgages to rent payments. Just not apples to apples.
#2 Shouldn't compare on raw monthly payments alone, because some of these apt complexes offer some great ammenities and others are just basic. So, if you pay $1000/mo for rent on a 2 bedroom, but have security parking, a spa, weight room, 2 pools, sauna, tennis courts, parties, 2 miles from work, etc. then it may be worth it IF renting is the thing for you.
Paul does make a good point when he said that if you are paying $900+ for rent, you should look into buying. Some people don't want to deal with it, and that's cool. It's just that sometimes people THINK they can't buy when they really can.
he is correct and my lender was pretty goodI can answer that for him....yes it does. He lives in Gwinnett and the mill rate there aint much better.

exactly, there are definately circumstance that i would rent in as well, single (dont' need the space), trying out the live-in girlfriend, location, etc... shit some apartments have FREE dry cleaning; that in its self is worth it. But if you don't mind mowing grass, fixing things yourself, & already are paying $900+ a month go for it.Originally Posted by Jaimecbr900

; there is no question, go that route.
QD: i would look into a lease-to-own thing as well.. just get papers draw up nice and clear so you don't get screwed
Ya well my stupid condo is assessed at significantly more than I bought it for. So that doesn't help me. It's too bad I didn't know you before I got my loan.Originally Posted by Jaimecbr900

You can always dispute your "assesed" value with the county. You can show them a copy of your appraisal from your loan closing. You can also file for your homestead exemption, which will reduce your tax burden as well.
Well, you know me now.....so if you need some help, feel free to give me a call and I'll try and see what I can do for you.![]()

$1250, 3 br/2.5 ba full basement, 2 car garage, 2.3 acres in cumming..
My mortgage is a hair over $1k (+ $160 or so PMIbut includes the taxes and insurance) for 3 bedrooms/2.5 bath, garage, and detached shop/garage. Not as close to work as the place in midtown but costing me less for alot more and i'll actually get the money back one day...write-off on taxes too (homestead exemption)...add in how much money we're making on side jobs in the shop and it's practically paying for itself.
