    Default Registering a gun

How do I go about checking the registration on a gun? I need to make sure it's not stolen or has 50 bodies on it haha. Where should I go?

    No such thing in GA.

You can check with your local police department...

But nope.. No gun registry in GA bro.

In a way, if they do want to have a registry in GA, im not against it..

Keep clean guns in the hands of responsible gun owners. Shit, sometimes I don't even trust certain gun shops anyways.

exactly. i wish there was a solution that kept the guns in responsible hands, that didnt restrict our right to own; but there isnt. Untill then i will have to live with yankie doo, and hoody bro, and all the whiskey tango inbetween being able to own and carry guns.

every time i go to the range i almost become a fan of gun control lol.

I don't because look at what happened during Katrina. I don't want them knowing what I have.

Honestly, Unless you are buying from a real reliable source, I wouldnt even buy it on the streets.. You can find great guns for cheap at local shops/gun shows.

What kinda of gun and how much are they asking?

It's a super good price! He's a nice guy, he just doesn't know if the gun is hot or not (as hard as it is to believe). That's why I wanted to check before I do anything. He's had it sitting in his garage for a while now and he has no need for a gun which is why he has that price on it. And another thing is, I don't wanna go and check the serial number and then get interrogated as if it was me that already owned the gun and get caught up in some shit I didn't have anything to do.

if he qualifies as #3 then put me in line for 50 of those at that price. thanks. While there is no gun registration in georgia you can send the serial number to the atf and they will run a serial number check for you free of charge and inform you who the last registered owner was/is and if there has been a federal HOLD on the firearm due to an investigation, etc..

I would do a bill of sale and only take it out of the house to go to the range. I would not drive around with a $150 Glock in my car for protection. I have a $499 Glock for that.

It's too good to be true. If you get caught with a stolen gun, the least that will happen is that it will get confiscated. The worst that can happen is that you get blamed for it. Either way it's a hassle.

Unless the guy is willing to sign a Bill of Sale or give you paperwork showing where HE bought it.....I'd pass it up. Even though there is no registration in GA, there is no telling what is up with that gun at that price.
