got the Outside Diameter of the bbl bushing fitted tonight. shes nice a snug. Finger tight, but takes a hair of ass to spin it, just how i think it should be.

started working on the inside diameter, but thats a PITA without a reamer, arghhh. Tomorrow i hope to finish the inside diameter, sandblast the bushing and plug then start facing, crowning and polishing the crown of the bbl.

Just got my fat ass in from running, shower time

Ohh and too bad your selling your officer. I really wanna build a stainless govt size out of a colt s70 just to see if i could sell the end product for more than scrap metal prices lol.

    Default Bushing and Crown

Here is some photos. Still have some finishing touches to do to get the aesthetics how i want it, but for the most part i am pretty happy. Shot about 60 rounds today, flawless as usual.

Some progression photos for those who may find it interesting.....

    Stock

On the drill press to take the bulk material off, then fitted by hand to get a good fit.

Test fit of bushing, seems to be good. Went a little overboard playing with dykem blue, ohh well

    90d facing cutter

    bbl face down to length

bbl with 45d crown, outer edge rounded slightly

    Test fit with crown cut

    Fresh out of the sandblaster

Where it currently sits, pretty much done. I think?!?! Crown high polished also. The plug and bushing are not flush, will try and correct this in the next couple days.

    stainless colt i hope?

got some more work to do on the bushing and plug. I want to smooth it out and make the plug in particular easier on the hands. It has sharp edges. Just have to decide on how i want to approach smoothing it all out.
