Just curious, but why not get a license and fish anywhere?

west point - on the border of Alabama and georgia good for bass and crappie
rome has a few good spot for white bass and stripers
toccoa river/dam is real nice during the summer. striper, largmouth, white bass etc..

we sometime go the tennessee to do some late night fishing.
    real nice fishing up there.

to get to good places in georgia you gotta travel!

just pay and get a license...its not much at all..and its good for a year. I dont know of any place that will let you fish with out a license.. Not to say there isnt any...but just none that i know of.

Like some one said West point is a great place to fish..i just went down there a few weeks ago and in one night got 80 crappie and bass.. went last week to Coosa river and ended up catching 30-40 white bass, Striper, spots and crappie.

Lanier is really on right now as well up around the chestatee river mouth area in N-ga

Also another place thats really on is in Franklin..

If you would like to know anything fishing wise im a huge fishing fanatic and go just about every week..i also talk a lot with the guides on each lake and keep an update as to where the fish are.

Everything is online now, buy and print right from home.

There are free fishing days, other than that I dont think there are free places to fish.

Any lake will most likely produce numbers as fish begin to spawn.

Wal Mart. it's like 8 dollars and all they need is your driver's license. It's a great thing to have when a dnr officer asks you for it and you don't you will pay a fine seen it a few times so far this year, also if you are a repeat offender you will do jail time!!

I know of several places that are free and u dont need a license to fish. PM me b/c im not giving them up to everybody.

The fee for the fishing license went up a couple of bucks this year but it's still only like 12 buck after tax. Georgia DNR

But you can fish these days without a license

Georgia residents 16 years and older do not need a fishing license, trout license, or Wildlife Management Area license (if you fish at a Public Fishing Area or Waters Creek) to fish the freshwaters and saltwaters of Georgia.
This does not include fees at private ponds and lakes.
All other fishing regulations remain in effect.
