All classes are with Randy Cain of Cumberland Tactics unless listed otherwise. http://www.guntactics.com/

Please note the new 2009 classes added and more will be added as the dates are firmed up.

    2009

April 2 & 3 Handgun Instructor Development. This class is offered to teach the student how to diagnose and correct shooters problems including their own. At some time we are all instructors helping others to shoot better. Prerequisites apply and instructor approval is required. $375.00

April 4 & 5 Urban Precision Rifle. This is a precision rifle class taught from 200 yards and closer where most police sniper shooting takes place. An accurate rifle is needed (less than 1 MOA) with its favorite load. You will learn proper technique including NPOA, maintenance, cold shot zero, and come ups out to 200 yards. If you think you can shoot small groups this is your class. $375.00

April 6 - 8 Tactical Carbine. Many experienced shooters consider this the best carbine class available as it really focuses on the fundamentals. Mr. Cain requires a high level of accuracy and competence with the weapon. I recommend this class for all wishing to take the more "advanced carbine" classes we offer. $450.00

May 1 - 3 Kyle Lamb (Viking Tactics) Carbine 1.5 The author of the great book on the AR carbine Kyle Lamb will teach his 1.5 Carbine Class.
This class has prerequisites and a limited enrollment, I expect it to sell out rapidly. A non refundable deposit of $200.00 will be required to reserve your slot so be sure to secure the dates on your calendar.
Three days for $600.00. Waiting list available.

May 13 - 15 Mr. Louis Awerbuck returns for Handgun Stage 2. I am sure all of you know about Louis and the quality of instruction that he bring to the range. All of his classes sell out early so reserve ASAP.
Prerequisites apply. Three days for $500.00 Waiting list available.

May 22 - 24 Tactical Handgun 101. Once again offered because it is our most popular class take by novices and experienced shooters alike. It is about the fundamentals which is most important, executing those fundamentals on demand is what makes one "advanced". Three days $450.00.

August 21 & 22 Defensive Walking Cane with Steve Tarani. Mr. Tarani needs no introduction to most of us but in my opinion he is the top of the class in hand to hand, knife and stick defensive class instructors.
If you don't know of Steve you should Goggle him. This Walking Stick class has always sold out at the range as the cane is the one weapon that you can legally take into a courthouse, on an airplane, on school grounds, in a bar, police station, ect. It is a great weapon and Steve will teach you some very simple moves in the two days that will give you the upper hand to most people. Two day for $295.00

August 23 & 24 Defensive Knife with Karambit with Steve Tarani.
Another of Mr. Tarani's classes that always sells out. Perhaps 2/3 of the class will be about fighting and defending with a conventional knife and the other third will be an introduction to the Karambit. Steve is the authority on the Karambit and you will be impressed with what you can learn in two days. $295.00

Sept. 11 - 13. Close Quarters Combat - Carbine. This three day class taught by one of the most noted instructors in America (Gunsite, Thunder Ranch and now Morrigan Consulting) brings his experience as a Marine with combat experience and and a LEO to Southern once again to teach this much needed carbine class. This class is intended to be up close and personal, bad breath distance that most civilians will find most necessary. Limited availability and the cost is $500.00

All classes at Southern Exposure will have a nominal range fee of $10.00 per day.

Most classes are filling rapidly since the Obama era has started so book your classes ASAP via email: [email protected]

    THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST.

    ******************************************

First 2010 is shaping up nicely. Louis Awerbuck, Randy Cain, Bill Jeans, Steve Tarani, Pat Rogers are all on board for 2010. I have added Kyle Lamb to our regular instructor cadre after hosing his class earlier this year and Kyle will be back for a minimum of two classes in 2010. To many of you his is the new kid on the block but I urge you to take a class from him at any location, he is top notch. I also hope to add a new instructor or two in 2010 and you will be advised.

Please see below as many classes are sold out or almost sold out so act fast if you want a slot. Also note that many instructors ave reduced the amount of ammo needed to attend their class due to price and availability.

July 31 - Aug 2 Tactical Handgun 101 Once again offered because it is our most popular class take by novices and experienced shooters alike. It is about the fundamentals which is most important, executing those fundamentals on demand is what makes one "advanced". Three days $450.00. Wait list only

can learn in two days. $295.00 Two slots available.

Sept 5 – 7 Tactical Handgun 101 Once again offered because it is our most popular class take by novices and experienced shooters alike. It is about the fundamentals which is most important, executing those fundamentals on demand is what makes one "advanced". Three days $450.00. A few slots available.

Sept 8 – 9 Tactical Revolver $375.00 We all own one of more but we very seldom shoot the revolver. Now is the time to get training and carry that J-frame with you. They aren't easy to shoot but there are some tricks you will be taught to improve your shooting. The real benefit, in my opinion, is that after the revolver class your trigger control with your semi auto will improve greatly, students remark about
how much better they shoot after this class. Two slots available.

Sept. Limited availability and the cost is $500.00
    (prerequisites) Wait list available.

Oct 9 – 11 Tactical Shotgun $450.00 This is my favorite class offered.
The shotgun is the ultimate home defense weapon in my opinion, some prefer the AR platform with its 55 grain bullet, some a handgun with its 230 grain bullet but I really like a one ounce slug. Like Cain says those other caliber are made to make holes in people but shotguns are made to take "chunks" out. I have a few loaded around my house at all times. Four slots available.

Oct 12 – 14 CQT Handgun $375.00 (prerequisites) This is the "bad breath" distance class that we all know is what we will really need to know when TSHTF but we continue to take the marksmanship classes. This is the class that has the greatest potential to save your life and much of it is with footwork. All the shooting is at very close range where true gunfight actually take place. A few slots available.

Nov 7 & 8 Ladies Handgun $375.00 A two day class just for the ladies and many of them will leave the class shotting better than their mates.
The will be taught how to safely handle the weapon and shoot it just in case the need arises. The best part is the girls all have a lot of fun. If you have a defensive handgun around the house you need to have your better half attend the class, perhaps an early Christmas present.

Nov 9 – 11 Tactical Handgun 101 Once again offered because it is our most popular class take by novices and experienced shooters alike. It is about the fundamentals which is most important, executing those fundamentals on demand is what makes one "advanced". Three days $450.00. A few slots available.

Nov 13 – 15 Tactical Carbine Many experienced shooters consider this the best carbine class available as it really focuses on the fundamentals. Mr. Cain requires a high level of accuracy and competence with the weapon. I recommend this class for all wishing to take the more "advanced carbine" classes we offer. $450.00 Three slots available.

Dec 4 – 6 Tactical Handgun 101 Once again offered because it is our most popular class take by novices and experienced shooters alike. It is about the fundamentals which is most important, executing those fundamentals on demand is what makes one "advanced". Three days $450.00. A few slots available.

Dec 7 – 9 Practical Rifle $450.00 Mr. Cain's favorite course and for good reason as the premise is this will be the last rifle that our government takes from us after the "black" rifles and "assault weapons".
You will learn how to fight with this weapon and keep up with those using semi auto plus you will be shooting a major caliber. If your also a hunter you have that added benefit. Slots available.

Dec. 11 - 13 Pat Rogers Carbine Operators $550.00 Is there anyone involved with firearms who doesn't know Mr. Rogers? Pat, once again brings his always sold out three day carbine class to Southern Exposure.
Our weather is great this time of year and Pat will give you up to the minute knowledge of what works and what doesn't plus his excellent instruction. Prerequisites Three slots available.

All classes at Southern Exposure will have a nominal range fee of $10.00 per day.
