Speer Gold JHP too.

Nice gun.
I love those Speer rounds. They are pretty devastating.
Thank you, and yea these are wild. I love them.
LOL.
Have you looked at J Frames from S&W, QD?
I'll have to see if I can scavenge some pics off my old PC....
EDC: SW SW40VE loaded with 16 hydrashoks carried in a crossbreed tuckable IWB half kydex half leather holster
Other carry gun : Glock 35, same ammo, same type of holster.
edit: found pics of the SW on my photobucket
<--not the crossbreed holster, that's my cheapo Galco thumb break OWB.
Also, to the OP...have you done the trigger mod on your SW40...you'll love it so much more.
No I havent, are you talking about shortening the trigger pull?Originally Posted by KPowerEP3

I did it. Cut a nice 3.5 lbs off of my trigger pull, and was definitely worth the research and few minutes of time I put into it.Originally Posted by white24d

You should get a Hogue slide on grip for that. I got one for mine and it vastly improves the feel of the gun. Helped me out with accuracy too.Originally Posted by white24d

I tried looking but not sure which one you are talking about.
And the trigger pull, I like it. It is very long but with no safety on the gun
I dont mind the long trigger pull
I'm sure these are what he is referring to. I had one on my Sig but lost it.Originally Posted by white24d

I'll post some pics when I get back to GA but I carry a Glock 23 .40. I have a Blackhawk CBQ paddle holster until I can afford a better one.

Just a few of them:
And if you ever THINK about coming by un-announced......THINK about this:![]()
BTW, I took these for insurance purposes not show-off purposes, but I thought I'd share. Also, there are some gay throw away guns in there, but they hold sentimental value so I've kept them. I have lots more, but these are all I'm going to show for now.![]()
VERY nice.
oh did u ever get a price list from ga arms? I am going saturday (i hope if they have 45auto in stock).

I talked to them at the show over the weekend. They were OUT of a LOT of calibers. People were buying them like wildfire. I picked up some 9mm stuff for Patrycja and got me some range ammo for several calibers. I even picked me up a big ammo can just to carry the crap out of the show in....$8....Originally Posted by Danny

They did have lots of .45 ball ammo, but that was all they had by the time I saw them on Sunday. I'm sure they'll have something by the time you go. I'd go early on the first day though. Everybody is going nuts buying ammo. Thank Obama for that.....![]()

i wont be going to a show. There isnt one in atlanta that i know of this weekend, right? Me and a buddy are headed out to thier shop saturday morning. Going to try and grab a 1500-2500 ball 45auto and if they have any 556 I will grab some of that.. of course![]()

I think there is a show down at the Farmer's market, but not 100% on that.Originally Posted by Danny

You should've heard everybody at the show. If Obama would've shown up, it would've been a RIOT. No lie. Pricing has spiked up something crazy. Even used guns are back to where new guns used to be. Ammo is where it's really getting nutty. Everybody is scooping up as much as they can and are driving the prices sky high.Originally Posted by Danny
I remember when I could pick up HOT Corbon +P+ loads for less than $20. Now, it's twice that if you're lucky. Even some reloads are pushing past $20 per 50. I saw online a guy selling Black Talons for $50/box, and you know that's only 20 rounds per box. It's ridiculous. But hey, people pay it, so it is what it is.

I actually just picked up a new price guide from them and their prices have gone up big time also.

I hate being negative, but why would you use slugs for "home defense"? Do you have kids?Originally Posted by NAMNORI

You may want to do 2 things; Practice with your shotgun more and put something other than slugs into it for home defense.
Slugs will penetrate interior walls like a hot knife thru butter. If you have little ones, collateral damage is NOT an option IMO. There is absolutely no need for anything more than bird shot or a mild buckshot for home defense. Anything else and there is a big possibility that you will hurt an innocent person. If you've ever seen the pattern of even the lightest bird shot @ 20 ft, it is about the size of a large pizza coming from even an 18 in defender barrel. Even if you live in a box, your hallway is wider than 2 ft, and even if it wasn't the bird shot is not going to over penetrate and hit your sleeping child two rooms over. The power level of even bird shot @ 20 ft is greater than most and certainly plenty to stop 99% of intruders dead where they stand if you hit anything vital. If you want to risk your children's life to "make sure they stay down with big buck slugs"......then go for it. It's just not smart science IMO.

Birdshot is not effective and lacks the power to penetrate to vital organs. This why birdshot only travels through approximately 1 wall instead of 4-6 like a slug will. yes u can kill people with birdshot, but as far as a defense load goes: birdshot isnt one. Buckshot #4 and smaller are NOT defense loads, they are simply too small and lack the power to reliably and predictably penetrate to vital organs on a human.Even if you live in a box, your hallway is wider than 2 ft, and even if it wasn't the bird shot is not going to over penetrate and hit your sleeping child two rooms over. Absolutely. Slugs are not ideal for defense loads. They are normally used as special application loads/ long range engagement loads. If you want to risk your children's life to "make sure they stay down with big buck slugs"......then go for it. It's just not smart science IMO.
It should be noted that your average handgun will penetrate more walls than a shotgun will. As always dont pull the trigger unless your sights are on target, this will help alleviate most over penetration issues. But of course, thats easier said than done

Ok just to make this short i do hit my targets 2 i go to the range more than most 3 my kids have been stratigically placed in the safest room in the house for this possibility. Slug kills no matter what, it doesn't matter if he dies right awat or 30 min later at the hospital to me it's just one more piece of shit iff the streets. @ 100 feet it hit 1-2 inch groupings indoors or outdoors at 20 feet i hit bullseye everytime! I don't care if you wear armor 1 in the head two in the chest either way you are dead!Originally Posted by Jaimecbr900
