    Default assault rifle ban

Do you think that it matters if i buy a rifle this month or should i wait it out? prices are going up...i should have jumped on it a few months ago....It will take them a whle to pass a gun law.

I think the sooner the better, but I dont think that they will push the assault rifle bans so quickly this term considering the monumental pile of shit obama has gotta clean up. The cost of ammo is ridiculous now though.

You know I like guns......I have a list of guns I want.

When I had my SKS I never got to shoot it, I had to sell it because I had an alcoholic living in my house. That problem is gone now.
I just want one and want to start going to the gun range on the weekends. Great stress reliever........
If I desert eagle wouldn't knock me on my ass when I shot it, I would get one of those.

I said I was going to use it at the shooting range......the 38 and the dog are for intruders.
I have my doubts about them banning I think they are just trying to jack prices.

No, guns in general won't be banned, but they have been talking for years about putting another ban on assault rifles and high capacity magazines for pistols and rifles like the ban that was in place from 1994 to 2004... Ever hear of the Brady campaign? They were a big contributor to barack obama's campaign. Why would they contribute millions of dollars if they weren't expecting something back out of it?

Obama's voting record as it relates to firearms:
    • Signed onto a letter to Senate Appropriations Chair Byrd and Commerce, Justice, Science Subcommittee Chair Mikulski opposing the Tiahrt Amendments and any attempts to attach them to Justice Department Appropriations (April 13, 2007).
    • Supports restricting purchases of weapons and ammunition at gun shows, establishing a national database that would capture and record imprints left by bullets, and making gun locks mandatory (Baltimore Sun, 9/15/2004).
    • As a state Senator, Obama voted to allow concealed weapons to be carried by retired police officers and some military personnel only (Baltimore Sun, 9/15/2004).
    • Obama regularly supported gun-control measures, including a ban on semiautomatic "assault weapons" and a limit on handgun purchases to one a month. (CBS News 1/17/2007).
    • As a state senator, he opposed letting people use a self-defense argument if charged with violating local handgun bans by using weapons in their homes. The bill was a reaction to a Chicago-area man who, after shooting an intruder, was charged with a handgun violation (CBS News 1/17/2007).
now he did say this during his campaign:
From a townhall campaign event in Duryea, PA, September 5, 2008

"I believe in the Second Amendment, and if you are a law-abiding gun owner, you have nothing to fear from an Obama administration."

but then again in Ebony Magazine Dec 31, 2007, he said

"These measures include closing the gun-show loophole and requiring mandatory background checks on purchasers at gun shows .… I also believe that we have to make guns in this country childproof .... I support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent. I believe that these weapons, such as AK-47s, belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets. These are also not weapons that are used by hunters, sportsmen, and sportswomen."

Who the fuck is he to decide what guns a law abiding citizen can and can't own? I hunt with an AR15, and I have hunted (varmints) with an AK47. Many competitive shooters shoot AR15's. Do competitive shooters not count as "sportsmen" and "sportswomen"? 99% of people who own these "assault weapons" are gun collectors like me. They either collect these weapons, or buy them for personal protection.

I have my Remington700 that i enjoy using for target practice... i guess that would be considered a "sportsman" firearm to The Messiah Obama... BUT i also employ my DPMS SASS quite often at the range and find it to be more accurate than my bolt action rifles on a regular basis. Occasionally i enjoy squeezing the trigger thirty times in rapid succession downrange. (knowing in the back of my mind that I'm just wasting almost 40$ worth....*sigh*)

...what do i need an assault rifle for? I need it for the same reason i "need" to modify my car: i enjoy it. I enjoy having the right to defend myself and those within my house. Couldn't i kill an intruder with one round from my .308 remington? yes, perhaps - BUT knowing that i have extra rounds just in case i miss gives one confidence. And confidence is a great ally to have when in a crisis situation IMO.
