I just bought a HPI Firestorm. Anyone else into R/C's? I know Nismo is, hopefully he can help out with track locations. I really want to play on a dirt track and BMW track. Looks like so much fun.

It's a cycle for me. I Sold my Yokomo GT-4 a few years back and never really had the passion to get back in.

I've been thinking of off road, like a T-Maxx or something if I ever got back in.

I've had nothing but 1/10 scale on road cars throughout the hobby, with the exception of a Barefoot Monster truck when i was like 6 (My brother assembled it)

    we'll see.

Hope you have fun with yours man!

I was a couple years ago. Had a stadium truck "setup" for the road, a T-Maxx, and a micro RS4. All were modded a little here and there. Very fun, but I had to start concentrating on getting a real car to drive.

I'm in a machine shop class now, seeing that I will be able to make parts when they break, I've been thinking about getting back in...

I've had my 3.5 Revo and Associated RS4 for a couple years now. I love the "drop and go" capacity that my RS4 has (brushless motor setup), but it cannot compare to how much fun i have with the Revo. There is an offroad track not too far from here called The Onion Patch; it's where i usually went for tournaments. Nowadays i find myself cranking it up every once in a great while to play with it by the lake for a little bit when i have time.

lol, don't waste your money on a T-Maxx bro. Not unless it has a big bore engine upgrade, they're painfully underpowered. The suspension on those trucks leave a lot to be desired as well.

I had a T-maxx a few years ago and it was fun but it cost way too much to drive. Jumping it and driving it off road killed the tranny. A buddy and I were jumping ours and even idling through the air it would break the pin in the tranny upon landing. The pin held the gears together or something and it was a huge pain to replace. Having to tune the engine all the time sucked as well. I had a stadium truck and driving it around was cool minus the pull start and no reverse. I also killed the clutch in it in a couple of days driving too.

I had a savage 25, duratrax maximum MT, sportmaxx, and some old tamiya's for awhile.

Ended up selling them all off.

I just scored a Losi mini LST2 off ebay though yesterday. I plan on keeping it stockish. When you get away from the essentials is when shit starts breaking.

I was into On and Offroad racing for about 5 years when i was a teenager and my mom supported my habit. Now that I'm an adult and my likes have changed I build my own crawlers. They are Geared WAY DOWN and all have 2 speed trannies. They are a lot of fun and will climb pretty much anything. And they hardly ever break and hardly ever need extra parts like my old dirt track cars and on road cars ALWAYS did. And the more rough they look, the cooler they are. They all still need more detailing to be more scale though.

Then the Bull in the china closet

Then here is one of my old Clod Based Crawlers that i have since built and sold off.

Well, I would have to think about it, i would have to add it up
    $$80 TLT kit
    $60- wheels and tires,
Body is about $80 on Ebay (Toy Jeep)
2 speed Emaxx or similar transmission is usually at least $50
All the suspension links are about $40
The Rooster ESC is around $80 used
The 3-4 channel radio is usually $150
    55t Integy Lathe Motor $20
$20 for Emaxx, Tmaxx drive shafts
Misc. fabrication parts and materials $80

    I guess roughly $700.
I remember when i built this one for a friend it was roughly $800
This was just before the tires go delievered

That's pretty sweet bro. I get what you mean by not messing with anything and your not likely to break anything.

Sunday I am meeting some1 at the sugar bowl for a 1/8 Ofna LX1 buggy. Ive always wanted a buggy.

I have a CEN CT4-S that needs the front drive belt. pretty effing fast too. I don't use it anymore, and will most likely sell because I don't have time for it. I'll post pictures of it soon.

I used to race at the Sugar bowl. Funny I raced behind the QT at Hwy 20 and 316 back when there was a track there where the Police training thing is now. They tore that down and I had to go all the way to Sugarbowl to run against anyone. That is one of the reasons I stopped racing offroad buggies because it was such a long way from Dacula and I couldn't drive(12-15) and Crawlers you can run anywhere.

I have one buggy still, it's a Old Tamiya Grasshopper with a Blackfoot kit on it. Most of the RC's I have that aren't crawlers are all vintage RC's. I think they were built better back in the day.

I'm sure some restraunt with a decent sized parking lot would let you set something up on one of their non busy nights as long as we eat/drink. Setting up the track would be a PITA though.

I heard sugar bowl closed down by the way.

Those crawlers would look BA with some 1.9s on them. Hella scale.
