just makes it easier to shoot and the barrel improves accuracy. the rail is for looks and accesories

every thing new in box is very expensive. tring to buy used is the way to go. the barrel($119) cost almost as much as the entire rifle($169) and the stock was a healthy $70. i probably got ripped but atleast the rail was only $40, but had to modify the stock quite a bit.
