I dont really care which democrat wins as long as another republican doesnt go into office. Which is really why I voted for obama because I think he has a better chance against Mclame

mclame is someone to consider though. we can't put him down because of what past republicans have done.
Not necessarily, young white males have voted for obama more. But I am concerned for his safety if he is electedOriginally Posted by WHAT_LAG
Why would you vote for someone who's political views on important issues are almost identical to Bush if you feel Bush let us down?Originally Posted by josh green
Ideally, a great deal of the money would be from other areas. For example, the cost of the Iraq war, bull**** programs like foreign aid to Israel (Israel has the 16th highest per capita GDP in the world, this aid only functions as a subsidy for U.S. defense contractors) and rational high bracket tax revisions would do it and then some. You could also argue that defense spending itself (seperate from war costs) is irrationally high and could be cut to add to the pot for nationalized healthcare.Originally Posted by 1SOL2NV
"While FY 2008 budget requests for US military spending are known, for most other countries, the most recent data is from 2005 (at time of writing). Using US spending at that time, we can compare US military spending with the rest of the world:
- The US military spending was almost two-fifths of the total.
- The US military spending was almost 7 times larger than the Chinese budget, the second largest spender.
- The US military budget was almost 29 times as large as the combined spending of the six “rogue” states (Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Sudan and Syria) who spent $14.65 billion.
- It was more than the combined spending of the next 14 nations.
- The United States and its close allies accounted for some two thirds to three-quarters of all military spending, depending on who you count as close allies (typically NATO countries, Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan and South Korea)
- The six potential “enemies,” Russia, and China together spent $139 billion, 30% of the U.S. military budget."

Is it because he's black or Hillary and Bill turned them away? Everyone wants to say blacks are voting for Obama because of what he is but how do you explain his surge in white voters? Is that because he is black as well? I didnt realize being black was the popular thing to be when running for president.Originally Posted by WHAT_LAG
And as for Obama being beat by a republican, Brian I am amazed at how delusional you are about Clinton. Barack vs. McCain is a no brainer.. Mccain does not stand a chance. Understand that Barack crosses the partisan line so he has a good group of republicans that support him as well. Conservatives are already bitter about McCain being the front runner so I guarantee you if Barack is elected and its McCain up against him Barack will be our next president.
Hillary needs to be very afraid, exit polls show that the people are ready for Obama and had it not been for early voting Obama would have won California.
O yeah.. Hillary's financial support comes from these large groups and corporations.. her funds are slim while Barack's money comes from the people who will donate endlessly till he gets into office. This will be a problem for Hillary with the upcoming primaries and Texas a month away..
how are we allowing someone that resembles OSAMA .. run for president ? i dont support obama or hilary .for my own reasons ... BRING BILL BACK FFS !!!!!! .... aT least he didnt start any wars .... or stick his nose in some other countries buisness like bush ....

I'm noticing a trend that about every 4th or 5th post someone feels the need to inject a little stupidity into the discussion. So we elect presidents based on resemblance now?Originally Posted by 1SOL2NV

voting democratic is voting for socialism and less freedom
although I hate most republicans these days as well
thats why I voted for Paul--hes really the only true libertarian
How blacks vote has nothing to do with, how most blacks vote. Most of the surge from younger white voters, is because they don't want another republican in there like Bush. Obama would have not won Cali, it showed that last night. The majority of cali is Latinos and Asian americans which Hillary has their vote like 3 to 1 over obama. Nothing is delusional if you were running a business you would see why I support Hillary over Obama. Also where in the hell do you think obama would win vs. McCain? Also out of most of the powerful in America what whites do you think are going to vote for Obama over McCain. The system is a proven that shows Obama wouldn't win that battle. Obama needs more experience, if he runs another time I would vote for him but not this time.Originally Posted by tony

Seems like some of you would like to see this country continue it's downward spiral...
As long as we have a president who has the balls to go to war with another country if it needs to be done. I'd rather fight them over there then on American soil. .02
The early voters leaned toward Hillary but the votes that were taken yesterday were in Obama's favor.. and that is a fact. Exit polls also showed Asians and Latinos favored Clinton 2-1 not 3-1.. thing is Barack gets the majority of the black and white vote, and latinos are not the majority everywhere.Originally Posted by WHAT_LAG
Rasmussen polls also show that Obama has a much better chance at beating McCain.
Barack is ahead by the way:

I havnt voted yet but im leaning more towards hillary clinton. Reason being is because 1st of all i dont want another dumbass replublican in house that will keep this pointless war going which is killing the us economy and sucks for many people who own business'. Second is Obama has no experience as a president as for Hillary has somewhat of an experience being Bill Clinton's wife. Also i think Bill would help her make good decisions if she was to be elected. Either way i think Obama could make a great president if he was elected and i would be happy as long as a democrat gets elected to help out the US economy that Bush fu.cked up
Experience? Did George Washington have experience? Thomas Jefferson? Abe Lincoln? Nope, none of them did their first go 'round. The only way you'd have experience is if you were running for re-election. Hillary may have been in the White House, but she probably didn't know half of what was going on.
Exactly. We need someone who will turn this country right side up and bring people together. Bush with his experience hasnt done that so I think experience is out of the question.Originally Posted by Kamikaze

I just think its a plus to have presidential experience. Washington and Jefferson were presidents wayyyy back, this is a new age. I never said Obama wouldnt do good. Honestly to me its almost a toss up between Hillary and Obama. Reason being is because i think either one would help the people in this country which is what we really need. Im sick of minimum wage being 5.xx or whatever it is now.Originally Posted by Kamikaze

In theory is different than it actually happening. If obama ran in another four years maybe. The problem is most of the people who hate Clinton on this board is because she is a woman. No matter who goes in office it will, take in my eyes 10yrs to fix this country. I have some info I will post later.Originally Posted by tony
