that surprisingly will make a huge difference. odds are its not going bad its just getting loaded with dust and junk. def. delete the porn, and extra music, documents, videos...etc.Originally Posted by ep9716
if you clean and clear it and it still has issues...than its time to check the parts and see if anything has gone bad. power supply. maybe burned out memory..or simply just more needed. MAYBE your motherboard. possibiliy even your hard drive going bad if its old...but usually hard drives run a good 5 yrs
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but run a good thorough cleaning of the computer. Download ad-aware and AVG antivirus if you don't already have them (or another antivirus software) and scan your system with them. If there's any spyware or adware on your computer it needs to be cleaned off anyway so it cant hurt to do it even if it doesnt fix the problem.
Next i would crack open the case and clean everything out like they said up there ^^ and make sure all the cords are plugged in tight while you're at it. If that still doesn't help then start looking at hardware...Did you recently upgrade anything? 'tis possible that your power supply can't handle everything, even if it's not bad.
i once had the processor fan go out on me and my comp would only stay on for 20 min. i replaced the fan it was all good to go.
heat is your enemy
well if its an alienware. most alienware comes with software to monitor temps and voltages etc.
she would have had a warning should those be the cases.
