Why do churches pay their ministers, pastors, etc, a salary?
Why do ppl pay to go to school to learn how to "spread the word"?
What's the need to build big, opulant churches year after year? Why does it matter where you worship as long as you worship, if that is simply the intent?
Why sell "holy" water on tv?
Why ask for money in exchange for praying for someone?on tv no less..

why do they pay a salary? because they have to support a family. its not like a pastor only shows up on sundays anymore, its an all week thing now.

Is it so hard to believe that there is a greater purpose here? Not necessarily saying christianity but spirituality, if evolution is just as ridiculous as christianity at least acknowledge the chance that there is a spiritual presence in this world.

The Bible tells us that the earth was created in six days. Six days, what does that exactly mean? The changes that the Bible describes could not have taken place in just six twenty-four hour days. It is just not enough time in physical terms. So you tell me, what sounds true? That God placed us here, and everything was form with the quickness, or that over time things evolved to the way they are today?

Everything needs a spark to start things off, and who knows. Maybe the Big bang was that spark for us.

I personally don't know everything about evolution. Just the fact that over a long period of time things must change, this could be due to their environment going threw changes were they have to adapt to these new changes. During this time period, it learns from experince and gains new knowledge, allowing it to live in newer enviroments. Thus "evolving" from a previous stage. A less advance organism.

In my opinion, religion was created as a form of government. They both revolve around the same principle, consequences for your actions. Kill some one, go to jail for a while. Kill some one and go to hell for a while. Religion was formed as a way to control people.

I want to issue a challenge to those that adamantly believe in their faith with undying passion. Since God and faith and all that other bs supposedly can get one through anything, next time you break a leg or an arm, have a heart attack, or simply the flu, get by on your faith. If faith is all you need then you shouldn't require the use of medicine (science), xray machines (science), or any other type of medical care.

The above was presented in the past. I'm still waiting for an answer.

I have read the bible through genesis and there was something in there about a man was married to a woman and she couldn't conceive and she offered her servant and they had a kid and later his wife conceived and god gave both the bastard child and the legitimate child the same treatment? So that would mean that god is condoning the actions of going against the 7th commandment? Why should one live by those rules if your "god" condones breaking them? The bible contradicts itself.

You're wrong, our children's children will have alot more knowledge than we do now. They will know the truth, and finally understand how life is supposed to be lived. Them reading storys of a man dividing the sea and a huge flood over coming the land, and a man that saved animals by making a ark, will not be inprinted in their mind. sience say's dinosaurs existed now if that is true were is the off spring of a dinosaur? seem like it should be even bigger since, humans suppose to have come from monkey's were bigger than some monkey's so all the other creature had offsprings but not the dinosaur hmm.... that is weird like most scientist bs that they come up with.

And a question for thought, if god created all life, then how come humans are the only ones confined to the 10 commandments? Animals kill other animals. Most species are not monogamous. These species lack the reasoning of humans so how can they repent? Do the not deserve eternal life? Is everything destine for hell except the human race?
