you're absolutely right...i got ahead of myself and failed to take into consideration the fact that he was still under 21. hmm...wonder if they will let him apply.....

I just went up to Probate court in Gwinnett and they even have a different way of re-newing the license. Now, you have to do the whole application process over again. You have to fill out the application, get fingerprinted, and pay the fees.....and WAIT. Yep, you have to wait just like the first time. It should be no biggie though. They gave me a temp. 90 day one while waiting on my perm one to come back. No biggie.

I do seem to remember reading on the paperwork that you do have to be 21 at the time of application though. I know they asked me for I.D. when I filled out the paperwork, so I'd imagine they would turn you away if you're not of age.

That's how it has been for years, Jaime. Except for the 90 day permit. I'm very surprised to see that they do that. Seems ironic that they would issue a temp license until your background check came back. What if it comes back negative? I know they can just cancel the temp, but why issue it in the first place?
