Default Do you know how to cook?

Just a few minutes ago, I was chopping up chicken wings so I can make hot wings later. Then I thought to myself "I wonder how many people on IA know how to cook", hence the thread.

    So answer up people!

come on...you ever seen a big girl that couldn't cook the hail out of just about anything? I know you got an aunt or cousin or maybe even your mom...someone like that in your family...especially in black families...my best friends aunt...she's a big woman...can cook like whoa...but his momma, she's skinny and can't cook for shit.

... I voted before I read this thread.... I'm a damn good cook... my dad had professional culinary training in his younger days and has taught me a lot.

And according to kayfunk, he can "see the saturated fat dripping off my face", and I "must have had to stop for breath two times while typing this because it takes so much work to move my fatass fingers".

He hasn't learned that big girls hit harder than small ones.... yet...

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

I am a master of all breakfast foods: eggs, omelets, french toast, etc...

I've actually been told by many people that my eggs were the best they had ever had, lol

It's not a matter of knowing how to cook, its a matter of knowing how to read. The box says everything I need.

Following instructions is lame though, you gotta be able to experiment.

I learned how to cook from working Grill Cook jobs at various places. It's a lot easier to cook good food when you're able to take your time with it and you're not being rushed with 50 orders all night.

I get paid to do it, so I guess so. I also created a new wing sauce tonight. Lemon pepper and Cajun seasoning FTW

I never thought that I could until I made Chicken Parmasean last week and it was actually good! Now I don't know if Rick was lying just to keep himself out of the dog house, but he said it was good too! So I guess, I'm a female who can sorta kinda cook some things or I'm assuming so under false statements!

I'm a guy, and I can cook decent. I just don't have much imagination, I don't really experiment much, but I can cook just about anything without getting it wrong.

What can I cook though? Poblano peppers (actually VERY good at this, better than most Mexican restaurants), hot wings, steak (any temperature inside, any texture outside), BBQ ribs, pork/beef/lamb/chicken in the oven or grill, fish, etc etc. If it has instructions I can cook it, basically, and if I get used to it I might experiment.

BTW, about to go cook some french toast and bacon.

Forgot to add: I made a damn good turkey last Thanksgiving.

I love too cook, but thats cause my mother went to culinary school and taught me a few things. But I made the mistake of cooking for my roommates, and now I'm the official cook like 4 times a week, fuckers need to order me pizza sometimes.. haha.

I'll start a new thread in the pics & photoshop forum for everyone to post their culinary works of art. I plan to grill out quite a bit the next few weeks before it gets too cold so I should have a few!

Several people on here have had my hamburgers and here's a pic of my shrimp scampi...

Obviously I didn't cook this mexican but took the pic the other day at lunch

speedminded...your pictures just make your food look good...hahaha.

Seriously though, that shrimp scampi's making my mouth water...hah, I love shrimp.

I can cook some things...but I need to learn how to do more main courses. Whenever Thanksgiving rolls around, I make a mean green bean casserole and some great cornbread. Yea it's from scratch...only way to do it!
