    Default Need some Info

I am getting more interested in OSJC and thinking about get one as my first project car. I am looking for something that has great engine swap potential (i.e. modernized but not beastly power) and that has parts that are "easy" to come by. Not easy in a sense that I wont have any problems at all but just easier than most, and not ridiculously expensive (i.e. 240z). Any suggestions?

Early Corollas have to be one of the easiest cars to get into, find parts, swap parts, and mod up. Datsuns are probably next. Damn near last is my car. Can't swap shit in it without mucho dinero and can't hardly find shit for it. Later, QD.

Any specific years I should go for with the Corollas? I love Datsun 510's. Would that make a good first? I have worked on cars before but they have always been running and in relatively good shape. So I'm not completely noob, but just haven't done an actual build from the ground up.

74-79 if you wanna go for the 70s look. 80-87 if you like the 80s style.

There are so many different types of Corollas one is sure to fit your style: TE31, TE37, TE71, TE72, AE86.

The 2TC and 3TC engine have a pretty big following, so you can still get parts pretty easy for them, and of course the AE86 has it's own huge following.

I like the 70's body style, then AE86 is 2nd best. If a good deal on a 510 (preferably a 2 door) is around when I am looking to make a purchase then that will most likely be what I go for. Right now I wil take anything into consideration though.

Link. I am not in the market yet though. I like to learn about what I intend to do first, make a plan, and then jump into it to execute. Trying to do most I can do right the first time.

Awesome. I was very close to buying a GT-S last year. The guy didnt know much about the car as in the condition bc he bought it a month before. I wasnt about to mess with something that could have had tons of problems I wouldnt know about until I got to work on it.
