    Default 85 300ZX resto thread

    Hey all, in June this year I decided to get into the older Japanese car scene by buying an 85 300ZX n/a for 500.00 from this guy on Craigslist. It was not running at the time and the main priority is getting to be a reliable car. She is running now but still has few problems before I can start driving her. I will try to keep this thread updated but keep in mind that I'm only 18 and my only source of income for the time being is eBay.

    Sorry if the pictures are too big. I am not home and can not resize them.

    The things that I have done to the car so far:
    -New plugs
    -New dist. cap and rotor
    -New ign. coil
    -Stripped most of the interior to take care of a few rust issues
    -Bled brake lines (Thanks to Mike Reed)
    -New Clutch Master Cyl. (Thanks to Mike Reed)

    Things I need to do:
    -Bypass heater core
    -New thermostat
    -New rear struts
    -Rig up some kind of intake

    Thanks for the warm regards guys. Eventually I will do some tasteful mods to the car but for now I just need to get it running correctly. At the moment the car needs a thermostat I believe and we'll see how that goes. I removed the carpet as well yesterday.

    Went to Conley Pull a Part this evening and got a very nice black dashboard. This is the last piece I needed to have a complete black interior (I'm swapping interiors btw). Pics will come later

    YAY 300zx!!!
    I had an widebody. LOVED IT. Amazing cars. lower it ASAP. It will rip your face off in turns. PM me if you have questions. I like to think of myself as a Z31 connisseur.
    I also have left over parts and know where to find parts.

    check out that oil pressure after 180k haha


    sleepy eye mod. Its free and bad ass!

    Z31 favorite Z of all time. Stick with the analog cluster Not sure which motor you like, but I loved the vg30et.

    Thanks for the kind regards guys. That's a clean z31, Te72Rob. I love the color. I plan on changing the thermostat tomorrow hopefully. I will resize the pics QD in a bit- thanks for letting me know
