Yeah, that thing has been to a few rotary meets too. The general Rx-7 community likes and accepts it.

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

Thats just a stupid statement, i have seen many many rx7's with more than 275 trouble free K's on them it is all depends on how you mantain your car, the only diference betwine a unreliable car and a good one is the part that goes behind the steering wheel,The owner,

i have owned many cars, diferent brands, and all of them where just awesome. my last RX-7 was a 189k car and still running strong on the same engine!

dude, ive owned several rx and rotary vehicles, I love them to death, but they are flawed from the start and have so many more issues with blowing up over a piston engine, everyone knows this. Just because you have had exceptions to the rule doesnt mean that the fact that on the whole, rotary's suck for reliability.

Well i have owned more than 7 rotary cars in my life and can tell you is not just a lucky thing i really respect your opinion but now i answer it the same way you did, just cuz you have bad luck with your rotary cars dont mean they are unreliable, if you buy em with issues already you going to have a problematic car my friend is as simple as that, anyway in PR they are one of the top pics from people who knows about cars, here from people who want to race and go fast, dont get me wrong i pick any piston engine before thinking of getting myself into a rotary but not for the reliabillity issue, but for the availabillity of parts in the cheapo parts stores, cuz you always need to go to the dealer to find the right shit!

I have owned a lot of rotarys. A lot.
In all of the years of having them, I've had one motor blow. Just one. And that was from overheating it at a race - obviously my fault as the fan was a manual switch, and never got turned on. I drove that blown car back from Moroso without issues, and drove it for the next month daily.

If you know what you are doing with cars in general, rotarys are some of the most reliable motors you can get. Non-turbo ones can run on 70 octane gas without an issue, the vast majority of piston motors cannot. The issue that rotarys have is that they have a high heat output, and as any knowledgeable mechanic will tell you, heat is the enemy of engines. As long as you manage the heat, rotarys have no more problems than any other engine. For a rotary, cooling the oil and coolant is important, as they were designed to give a higher level of performance than a piston engine of the same size, so the heat is more of an issue.

As for reliability, please tell me of a piston motor that has been capable of running the 24 Hrs of Daytona twice without a rebuild. Literally, put the car in a trailer for a year, and then pull it out and run the next year. Downing did it and took 1st the first year, and 3rd the 2nd. That's pretty reliable.
As for the street, I have had several 1st gens over 200K miles. My FD had 160K on it when I sold it, and the current owner still drives it everyday. Of course, he knows how to do basic maintenance. People who do not know how to change their own oil and coolant should not own a rotary. Or really any car for that matter.

The point was to keep the cost down lol. I could have a rotary for free.

The guy I sold my 914 to is putting a V8 in it, he has a Subaru SVX swapped one, a 350 swapped one, and an LS swapped one. All beautifully done. A V8 914 is scary fast...
