I'm just going to throw something out there, I'm not meaning to be negative.

An event like this needs to have more specific details concerning the purpose, where to meet, route to be taken, time, lunch or dinner plans, and roll call to be a success. With minimal details, people will get lost, arrive late, or not even show at all due to lack of planning. Personally I'm battling really going through the trouble to get off work for something that appears to have a possible weak turnout. I'm just sayin, it looks like no other tipical old school meet preparations have gone down.

Cleveland is outa the way for some people, the tipical meeting place for these things is the top of 400ish area, its a good central base for several routes. 12 noon seems a little late to me. I'd think it'd be better to meet early, get some good spirited driving in (nothing crazy), stop at a park for some BBQ goodness and catch up with friends, and maybe go for a small photo shoot somewhere nice.

    Thought I'd give my $.02

No one said you couldn't meet up somewhere else and ride to the Ingles at all. It's no big deal, really. If no one shows, then no one shows. None of us has planned a cruise like this before. If anything, this can be a feeler of sorts to see how to get it right the next time.

Also, sometimes, no plan is just as good as having a plan. I hop in my car all the time and just take roads I've never driven on just for the hell of it and see where it leads.

But there is a plan as to the route. If you can't make it, that's cool. Hail I'm really not as excited about this because my car won't be there. I'm really looking ahead for next year so we can start all over again. Later, QD.

The planned route is short and simple. 129 north across Blood mountain. On the other side we'll make a right at the sign for Brasstown Bald. Then we'll make a left on to Brasstown Bald Mt. Rd. and drive to the top of the mountain. We'll wait there to regroup. We'll leave there and back track a few miles to Richard Russell Senic Hwy, maybe shoot some photos at some of the overlooks. At the other end of R. R. follow directions to Helen. If we have time and people want to drive North towards Hiawassee, we can do so, before riding through Helen, and maybe stopping for a bite to eat. If anyone get's lost, or is on the way, and late, call me at 404-587-5590

If I make it there, I will use the 4Runner to block the entire roadway and make sure there is no spirited driving or any laws broken.

I am pretty sure most of us will be in cruising mode and most people would probably want to pass us.

I'm blocking EVERYONE. I will not descriminate between Old or New School. Everyone will face the inevitable view of the Trailer Hitch Cop and the Devil Girl Sticker. Anyone caught attempting to pass will be put to death by the establishment!

With all the leaves and crap on the road driving fast isnt the best idea anyway, esp. if youre gonna be on a bike.

I can't make this one. This year just didn't work for me, i missed almost every meet. I put all my cards on the crown and it blew up! The engine blew right after i decided to only tag/insure it for a while. so now i have 2 running nostalgics that have no tag/ins. and the crown has no motor, but a valid tag and insurance. Bad move... I will be back next spring for sure. 7mge in the works....

Better yet. Talk to John. See if he has the running problem fixed on the truck. If so, you can roll in it to the meet. That's for you friend. No strings, just come out and have fun.

I just mapped cleveland from my house and it says an hour and 45 mins. Don't know if I am going to go now. Didn't realize it was that far. Can't we pick somewhere more central next time?

We're going to end up in N. GA anyway, so it can't really matter how you get there, lolol. Later, QD.
