    Default ITS ALIVE

Its taken me about 5 months of working and reading and learning. Finally, my 1986 Starion is fully running and after doing some neighborhood tuning will be back on the road.

For those of you who arent familiar with megasquirt or Starions... The wide bodied cars such as mine are turbo intercooled and all have a lsd from the factory. What turns most people away is whats considered to be a massive failure by mitsubishi is the stock injection system which is a 2 injector Throttle Body Injection. Which can be fixed by switching to a multi port injection manifold and some type of stand alone computer like what i've done. I've also gotten rid of the distributor in favor of a ford distributor-less ignition system.

When i first started this i had NO idea what i was doing, now i can create a complete running file in a matter of minutes and i can tell you exactly how each feature, sensor, setting works and what it does.

I'm so stoked to have this thing running, now i can come crash the parties i hear happening at Zero every Saturday!! lol

Mine really dosn't leave the garage. People across the street think it is a tool bench.

Really? Then I make it sound really simple. lol. I've got such a stupid long list of things I've done to this car, so many custom parts and so many hours of labor, wouldn't of been possible without friend's help as well.

Much respect for getting it running.
The Conquest was always high on my list.
Once my 80's sports coupe is finished maybe I'll get one.

Will work for food, car parts, or three stripe apparel. And not necessarily in that oder.

    whaaaaaaaaaaaat?

I have a njv marnal Spain casting head. And i've got a set of hard pipes made specifically for my intake manifold and with a stock intercooler but with modded inlet/outlet.

Good call though! Not common to have someone that knows anything about starquests here lol

Heres a pic under my hood, kinda old though. but you get the general idea

Wanna know what I find really sad? In the... 3 years we've known each other, you now know more about the cars than what I do  Bwahahaha I'll never forget picking up the black one from Carrolton, going to Steak N Shake off of Pleasant Hill Rd, you wanting to drive your car home and the car would start

Granted, I haven't fooled with mine for a bit, nor actually sat down to read the manuals. Lately I've been reading the electrical manual. I need to find the time to jump into the wiring and at least replace that negative terminal <_<

Then I might see about throwing it up on a lift and getting the cam mic'd.

Man.... that 87.... what friggin nightmare. If i recall correctly, it was a fusible link for the ignition, i replaced that a few days later and never had a problem.

Remeber all the BS that guy told us? built bottom end, Clutch/flywheel. All complete garbage. I don't know how that motor held together as long as it did.

Holy shit its crazy what i now know lol
