so I went to a party in atlanta with my brother for New Year's Eve. when he got back to his house at 3-4ish am, he noticed the gate to the backyard was open, and his two dogs, a purebread golden retriever, and a 1 year old boxer puppy had gotten out. so the next morning, him and his roommate went lookin for it and couldn't find it. animal control was closed for new years day. luckily today my brother gets a call from animal control, who had gotten a phone call from a couple who had the dogs. so here is what had happened.
that night, the couple saw them in a Kroger parking lot about 1.5-2 miles away from my brother's house. Cassius, the boxer, hopped right into the car with these people, but the golden retriever wouldn't. so they went to their apartment, and were gonna try to look for the retriever the next morning. so they go to their apartment complex about 1/4-1/2 mile away from the Kroger parking lot.
Then the next morning, they wake up, and get ready to take Cassius to animal control, open the door, and the other dog is laying infront of their doorstep!
So luckily my brother has both of his dogs back. This just goes to show how smart dogs really are. totally incredible.
