see my best friend is a beta..and ive only been to there parties and they have been pretty fun. Not the craziest shit and not the most fun ive been to. but I was suprised as to how much fun it was. But he's getting dicked over by the campus/atl. police for some stupid shit. Over all tech's a benge drinking school if ive ever seen one!and they can definitly throw it down if they are feeling it! well the frats ne ways. There are very few good looking girls, and the ones that are there tend to be taken. Which is also why Au and UGA parties tend to be better..but tech's a great school, and I dont wanna take away from it. Im definitly not smart enough to get in, let alone make it through it, which is why I have respect for those who can.
helped put my girl through tech while in the service, yeah the athletics is ....eh...but she didnt go there to party, or for sports and at 28 making nearly 70k and planning on opening her own C.E. firm i'd have to say, it's a pretty damned good school!!! lol!

I 100% agree...him and like 5 other guys are much more down to earth. The rest of em I cant stand. Ive never really liked most frat guys just b/c 90% of em are assholes. I guess I dont like em just b/c they arent my thing, which may be immature on my part. Im up there every now and then for parties adn those guys can be just a little too much for me. btw Gt vs. maryland...nice win in the end!

Tech is a drinking school w/an engineering problem...
I went to tech, and I went to quite a few parties at other schools (UGA/UF/Emory).
I'll say this... on average the crowd at Tech parties is a little bit less laid back, but I think that is due to there *always* being more guys than girls at the parties. It makes the fellows uptight and the girls switch into princess mode :-) Its almost as bad as compound (j/k... i've never been to compound, but my friends tell me that a majority of the ladies there are all about the ride and the bling).... However, I should point out that the best band parties I went to in college were at Tech.
Tech is an alright school. The education is good. You can leave the school with a diploma and some MAD skillz if you're willing put a lot of work, effort, and time in. You can do that at UGA also, of course... but it takes more deliberate effort to get yourself in a competitive, tough curriculum there.
UGA has a much easier social scene to blend in to... its in a smaller college town with where probably 25% of the people in a club/bar on a given night are UGA students. Tech is in midtown... there are a few favorite hangouts, but they are shared with the rest of Atlanta/Buckhead/etc.
As for the fraternities... there's good and there's bad. I was offered a bid (which surprised the hell out of me, cuz i was only interested in hanging out), but the whole frat thing isn't my cup of tea, so I never went back to that house again (lol).
Anyways, this is what many GaTech fans think about the UGA football program

Lol at the frats. They're only fun for showing up and starting a riot and seeing how many drunkasses it takes to pull me out of there. You all should come to one of my parties, we had way more girls than guys last night over here and everybody was throwing down, maybe 1/4 of the party was Tech people.
Tech is going to stomp UGA this year, sorry guys. We should be able to beat Clemson again, hopefully I'll be at that game.
