    Default Kermit on NASCAR ...

I strongly dislike NASCAR and not to get on a pedestal or anything, but I am so sick of turning on the Speed channel and seeing NASCAR, rednecks arguing about the fastest way to drive in circles, rednecks talking about the last race, the next race, two races ago, three races from now, NASCAR rednecks playing poker (and why on earth is poker televised on any channel, much less Speed???), rednecks discussing rednecks who argue with rednecks about why there are only rednecks in NASCAR, so on and so on. And then there’s always the descriptions of the “races” that bug the snot out of me. For example when the aforementioned rednecks talk about an accident, they say “…he came in to the wall…” or “…he came into car # blah blah blah…” What in the heck are they talking about??? He didn’t “come” into anything, the dumb*** CRASHED! Ok, sorry, I’m done. But you’re absolutely right, it’s hilarious to watch them try to navigate their way around a road course. You ever notice how most of them stay in the dead middle of the track at all times, or how on the first right-hand turn there is always an accident. That part of NASCAR is fun to watch, I feel embarrassed for them, but it’s still fun to watch. Ok, now I’m really done, sorry again.

    LMFAO! this shit is classic!

Heck no...they haven't even aquired the proper skills to make a clean right-hand turn much less use signals, that would be way too complicated. And let us not get on the subject of elevation changes or using more than 2 gears.

i don't care what people say...i personally love NASCAR....i don't care if people like it or don't....i've been watching since i was in kindergarten.....you try going 190mph+ less then 6 inches a apart on a 33 degree banking in a pack of 40+ cars....or going to a track half a mile long witha 36 degree banking in a pack of 40+cars going 140mph+...but i do watch most every type of racing out there too:
    IRL
    ALMS
    SPEED WORLD CHALLENGE
    GRANDAM
    WRC
    F1
    Paris-Dakar Rally (badass)
    etc....
    I'm not a NASCAR fan i'm a race fan.....
i agree i miss the old Speedvision where they were more open to other forms of racing....it seems they have turned into NASCAR TV which is a shame...but hopefully they'll get more diverse programing on the way....

i would too, maybe two would try to turn at the same time, hit one of the signals with their car.....soon after an accident occurs...then it would turn into a race of who can put there arm out the window the fastest and put it away safely....lets not forget teh downforce the arm may cause

They should pout "out-of-sync" redlights on the track to make it more interesting. Or let school buses run. Then, the bus could stop and put their stopsign out and see the chaos. Later, QD.

I am not a Nascar fan but the general consensus is that Nascar drivers are the best "drivers" in the world. Anytime they have those Allstar type races where they put different drivers in different cars than they are used to, the Nascar guys seem to win. They did a test with Jeff Gordon and Juan Montoya where they put Montoya in a Nascar cup car and Jeff Gordon in Montoyas F1 car. Montoya couldn't do shit in the Nascar, he was nowhere near the pace of what the Nascar guys run. He radioed saying the car wouldn't handle and was all over the place. Gordon on the other hand ran the shit out of Montoyas car. On the third lap he made he was less than 1mph off the pace of the pole sitter from a previous F1 race at the track they were running. He loved the traction control that was on the F1 cars. I do agree with your point about speed channel, it should be for all forms of motorsports and not just Nascar.

ok so far we have use hand signals, put them in gas suits, blind fold them, get some buses out there and use their " stop sign" and random stop lights....

here is what else i would liek to see...
make those short buses with students on board....you kno they cant stay on too long as they would need bathroom breaksd
lets put electric tazers on the pit crew...if they take too long...they get buzzed...oh yeah ....every 10 secs would be the limit
lets have an ice crea, truck distribute ice cream everytime they pass him
oh and an open bar....everyone is invited
oh and random fights like hockey...you can just get out the car and call someone out and they fight you on teh track...you get hit by the cars passing...you both lose

The challenge comes from having a 3500 pound car with no form of traction control and the speeds they are hitting. There have been several times they have tried to bring over some top Japanese drivers and other drivers that have had success in other motorsports and they can't hack it.

good point, they put a driver that is used to driving the hell out of a shit box in a great car and a driver of a great car into a shit box, i can imagion it was easier to get into the better car then the slower one.

seriously thats like driveing a 911 turbo all day and switching cars with someone driving a civic (no offense) then letting you both do courses, who is going to look like the better driver?

Ok, ok...on your first post; I too saw that driver switch thing with Montoya and Gordon, and did you notice how Montoya's reaction was "It was loud, real loud" and Gordon's reaction was more like a 7 year old who was let loose in a candy store? Or how Montoya has since said that he has no desire to ever drive another NASCAR and how Gordon can't wait for another opportunity to sit behind the controls of an F1 car?

And the second post: No form of traction control? Their wheels are different sizes so miminize the amount of steering input required. Not to mention that the tires alone are about 3 feet wide and as soft as bubble gum. Now, I'm not saying that it doesn't take skill to keep one of those things on the track (which is obvious by their inability to make more than 2 laps w/o "coming" into something) but come on, have you ever watch their lines on a road course? "Apex, what" says the average NASCAR driver.

yes but how many times have Ron Fellows, Boris Said, and many others have competed on the road courses in NASCAR? how many times of they won? 0....

not take anything away from both those drivers...they're probably one of the best road course drivers in North America today....but it shows you how difficult it is to compete against those drivers....granted some of them are not the best (okay some of them suck at turning right)...but most of them are pretty good (Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon, Rusty Wallace, Robby Gordon etc)....

For the answer to this question I would like to refer to Spyder's post about switching from a 911 to a (he said Civic, but I'll say...) Pinto.
