Three people check into a hotel. The rate is $30, so they each give $10 to the manager and go to their room. The manager suddenly remembers that the room rate is only $25. he calls the bell boy, gives $5 to the bellboy and tells him to give it back to the guests. On the way to the room the bellboy realizes that $5 would be difficult to share among three people in the room (me and 2 bitches... that's how I roll... LOL) so he pockets $2 and gives $1 to each person in the room.

Now each person has paid $10 and got back $1. So they paid $9 each (totalling $27). The bellboy stole $2 (totalling $29). Where is the missing $1?

Because each got $1 back, they only paid $9 each, for $27. The bellhop got $2, and the hotel got $25. The $30 is irrelavent.

you put the balls in 3 groups
way two of the groups
if they are even then its one of the last three
choose two balls from that group and weigh them
if its even then you know its the ball you didnt weigh (sp?)
