    Default So the S2k had a little accident - Updated Pics on pg. 2

    Yea, coming down Hwy 9 and making a right onto Hembree is a pretty nice turn. The turn is not exactly 90 degrees so it makes for a nice sweep. I've done the turn many times and no problem.

    Well, unfortunately for me tonight, something was different. Don't know if it was debri in the road, or tires weren't warm enough. Anything could have happened.

    I'm coming into the turn, and honestly I have no rememberance of how fast I was going but next thing I know the back end steps out. Normally, I'm able to correct it, which I did. Next thing I know the back end whips back out in the other direction and just takes out from under me. 360's ensue and I'm hopping a curb. THANK GOD the curb was very small. Maybe came off the ground 2-3 inches. I've taken a piece of the lip out on the front driver wheel, and a small dent on the back drivers wheel. Passenger side is just fine. Twin was with me and he drove the car home. Everything felt fine except for the alignment of course. No shaking, no noises. Two new wheels and an alignment later I should be fine again.

    Yes, it could have been A LOT worse. A LOT! Thanks for Chuck and Brandi who were following me, at least it helped calm us down a bit. Of course, I'm going to be Mike twin's bitch for awhile since he'll be helping me get the car back in shape again. Couldn't do it without him.

    i know what turn you speak of....i had a team mate from my hockey team get in an accient on that turn. car burst into flames. he died.

    Yea, that accident keeps replaying in my head. DP accelerates b4 we get to the turn, gets in the turn and gets it sidways. He holds it prety damn good, for about 100 feet. It looks like hes got it. Oh shit! the ass wobbles a few times and slings back in the other direction. Does a 360 and the driver side smacks the curb and jumps it like its a pogo stick. Guys are lucky, glad yall are alright.

    Oh yea and my job has cameras so imma see on monday if any of it was caught.

    in a case like that it's best to just hold down the throttle or just make sure you don’t completely release it all at once, its very hard to do so but after you get used to it you should be fine.

    Yeah that's exactly what I told him right after yelling at him to get the hell out of the car and that Mike was driving the rest of they way and not him...

    Yea, it was pretty nasty. Here is the ownage picture... the back wheel had a dent in it that can be repaired but this was the most of the damage. We just got back from putting on my old wheels and we didn't find anything bent/damaged. Thank god.

    do s2k's have traction control? a friend of mine died in a s2k when the back end got away form him when he went form 1st to 2nd while turning, same way too but he flipped.

    '06 S2k's have traction control, but it's not idiot proof. I'm sorry to hear about your friend, but you don't shift at all while turning your car at the limits. That would really upset the balance.
