    Default Sources for JDM CARS

I wouldn't think this would belong in the WTB section, but if it does...go for it.

I'm not actually looking to get one...not yet, anyways, but what/where are some good sources for checking into them and buying them? I'm not looking to get one from a private seller, and again, I'm not looking to buy...just wanna see what's out and such.

    Only places I know of:
    NADAuto.com (Gwinnet)

Actually, I know of only one place for the full car...the other place I was thinking of is clips/parts only.

    Thanks.

I know where I can find parts, thanks. I'm looking to see whole cars, though. Just doing some research...

    Thanks for your attempt, though!

What car are you looking for...

That makes a difference where to look.

Since you drive an EF I doubt you're looking for anything more then $1500...which may be hard to find.

haha, well, I mean, I'm not particularly looking to buy one. I jsut wanna get a rough idea of what the JDM market looks like. IF I get a RHD JDM car, I won't be getting it for about 2-3 years. Just wanna go ahead and start getting a feel for it...

if u wanna get something true JDM, go unique. Get a 1989 Daihatsu Charade
Theyre reasonably cheap, you can get one with low miles for under 1500 there and you can have it legalized, titled and streetable here for around 5k$ . IMO its a better buy than a skyline since everyone and their brother has a skyline, and performance wise its up there. Its 3.8L Twin Turbo AWD v8. Theyre insanely sick, over 300 at the wheels bone stock.

Yeah, I'm actually considering in about 3-4 years taking a little trip over there to get something. I can then use my girl's parents' military strings to ship it for a decent price. I just dont' know yet what I wanna get, but I've got plenty of time to decide.

I don't want a Skyline, though. I mean, sure, they're great cars, AWD, RHD, dooorifto madness, lotta power and lotta potential and gorgeous to look at (ESPECIALLY the R34) but as stated, so many people have it. That, and I love jap cars because of their weight. Skylines are kinda heavy, so it takes away (in my opinion) from the JDMness of it. I may as well just get a car made in America. I've got a 91 civ hatch and 88 rex si...both being built. And when THOSE are done, I love my EF's, but it's time to retire and move on to something else. We'll see in time, I just wanna see what my options are.

It runs about 5K to register it and everything in America? Dang, that's steeper than I expected. How much is it to ship one (without any kind of hookup)

Is this what you were referring to?

Kinda ugly...I'd prefer something a little sleeker like maybe an 89 Celica, the AWD model with the 3sgte...if I can find one over there by then...it'd be hard to find something of that age I'd assume. I dont' know, we'll see what I stumble across when i get there if I get there.

yeah its different ppl think its a regular civic hatch... they dont know its at least 300 awhp stock... and its sick.... u can do it yourself for under 2k but it may be slightly illegal

look it up... Those diahatsu charades are beasts. They look like a 3.8 V8 wont even fit from the outside... but its awesome how theyre engineered. 3.8L V8 TT in a small civic hatch lookin car.

I'm jus tthinking of how small a piston is for a 3.8L V8. That's gotta be pretty small...

Although, actually, logically thinking...my 1.8L 4 cylinder probably has pistons just barely smaller..

What's the bore on those things?

Get a 91 Pulsar GTIR! Not many people have that. sr20det AWD, light as shit, about 13.5 sec stock in 1/4 mile. Plus, they are dirt cheap! That woud be the car I would put my investment, if I wanted to maintain a tight budget.
