    from what I've heard, tuning/modding USDM cars is getting hot over there... Japanese hot rodding market is BIG.. they import old bel Airs and shit and mod the fuck outta them. Who knows on the Toyota/Chevy thing... maybe Toyota bought the Japanese market design? Happens a lot with car companies.. one company will buy another's old design/name to market it in a different country... like Toyota and Scion... Scion in Japan is all Toyota... or the Chevy HHR being an exact replica of the PT Cruiser.. Either that or the more likely answer that is: The seller's dumb.

    Just as Chevrolet sold the Corolla in the US badged as a Prizm, Toyota used the joint partnership to sell the Cavalier badged as a Toyota in Japan for a short time.

    i thought the prizm was a Geo?? anyhow, you would think with a joint partnership, chevy could make better shit

    Geo was part of GM and sold though Chevy dealerships and after they dropped the Geo marque, Prizms, 4-door Metros and Trackers were sold as Chevys.

    All Geo's were made by companies other than GM and imported for sale.

    Must be about the time I worked for them. Worked my way though college at a Chevy dealership. Right after the got rid of the open Trackers and used the Grand Vitara instead. Actually they may have still technically have made them, but we never had a one at my dealership... only the closed in 4-doors.

    You rock! Nobody knows that, thats why you'll get some Cavy kids who swap Toyota badges on their car. I wonder if JDM Cavs put on Chevy badges to look USDM?

    I suspect thats a typo, but yota and gm do have a loose deal on some cars, just like the pontiac vibe is really a toyota matrix.

    Nah the cavi is sold under the yota name over there. google search it. i ran upon a few of those for sale once on a website like a yr ago. i was confused as hell too.

    Geo Prizm = Toyota Corolla + Chevy Nova
    Geo Metro = Suzuki Swift + Chevy Sprint
    Geo Tracker = Suzuki Sidekick

    When Geo went down, the just replaced the badges to Chevy Prizm, Metro and Tracker. Later, QD.
