    I was thinking that meant someone was doing it. With most phones I know if it's off it goes straight to voicemail with no ring. Sorry about what happened and I hope it all turns out ok.

    what cell phone service does he have ??

    cause if it has GPS on it im sure they can find it ..

    im not sure if the phone has to be On or Off for this to work ..

    i think that might just me your phone then, becuase mine and people i know, when they have them turned off it goes strait to voicemail!

    so i would check with the phone company and see if they can locate his phone!

    Sometimes it takes a moment for your network to find the other phone, especially if they're different providers. Hence, the one ring - HIS phone is sending it straight to voicemail, but YOUR phone hasn't picked up on it yet, so it can sometimes put in a ring - other phones may just have blank air for a second before the voicemail appears. Don't ever question me, I'm always right.

    Oh, I've never heard of that before. I have cingular and all other people I call if they have it off, straigh to voicemail. If it rings once, they are ignoring me. Usually my grandmother and brother do this.

    *edit* just saw the posts above mine... i knew no one had talked to him so i'm glad other people were lookin out for him the thread caught my attention since you said del sol meet and i knew he had gone to one the last time my husband had talked to him. i've known rob for about 4 years now, but he does have a tendancy to disappear every once in a while
