Default Get rained on the 4th?

I went to Centennial Olympic Park to watch the fireworks show. About a 2/3 of the Blessid of the Union Souls or something like that show was almost over. It started sprinkling and then they finished their song up, PA came out and told everyone that a storm system was coming and told everyone to go to the CNN Center.

by then, it a TERRENTIAL downpour ENSUED. Kids RUNNING all over, adults scrambling, it was CRAZY.

Then to top it off, all the damn gates to Centennial Olympic Park were locked except like 2 exits. People were jumping gates and it was really pandemonium.

Needless to say, it was an experience. My clothes were soaked, I walked back to the GSU Village dorms in the downpour, said fuck it and walked in the rain with no shirt on. My sorta ma call it GF was soaked and stepped in every puddle possible.

Anybody have a bad 4th? NO fireworks or anything, it SUCKED.....

atleast coming back to the Southside we saw some fireworks..

Yeah we were at centenial also!! We were gonna try to wait it out but it just kept getting worse and worse and then some security finally came running thru and told us there was a tornado warning and to get out and seek shelter. So we of course run to the gate that are locked and we jump the fence, after jumping the fence we figured out why they were all locked over there, lol a swarm of police officers ran over to us yelling at us to get away from the fireworks, lol... we look around to see that we are surrounded by rows and rows as far as you can see of fireworks, lol..

I will have to say though, even though we were all soaked and almost got stuck by lightning about a million times, we made the most of it and had a great night anyways!

They are rescheduled to tonight but the forcast for the rest of this week is scattered thunderstorms so I dont think we are gonna tempt that one again, as much fun as it was, I'll pass, lol

Yeah I heard the game ended a short bit after midnight, and then they announced that due to the fact that their fireworks license ended at midnight they couldnt shoot them off.... cheap bastards :jerkit:

Started watching the fireworks that were on TV when Chuck said he felt bad so we left to see if we could catch the show at Will's Park, got up there right as everyone was leaving, so went back home to catch the Lenox show on TV. They are doing the Centennial Show tonight, so I am trying to convince Chuck to take me to go and see those.
