The quality in models also.. wtf are people thinking ?
A few years ago car shows had some hot models.. now it seems every chick wants to model and shit... bones and extra fat is not an issue anymore.

In my opinion. The reason nobody attends shows anymore is because the population of poorly constructed, shitboxes are taking over the import scene. Your typical car at a show now is a 10 year old Car with knock-off wheels, TV's in the dash, and a spraypainted valve cover..
Sure there are the minimal few that still impress.. but why do they wanna show up to such a diluted scene?
This is not about the cars at the event.. Unless you drive something better then a honda, I don't think your opinion is very important. but that would be another thread.
We talking about the Models.. did you know 1/2 the airheads there know very little about cars, they just want attention, get paid or laid.. So Dont think your explanation works.

The reason they don't show up is because sub-par car shows DON'T attract attention. The import scene is not profitable around here. Companies know this, so why hire models?

When I first got into the scene the models were slammin. you only saw hot model. Now days the good one are few and far between. I used to go for the cars and girls. now mostly just the cars. you might get a good one here or there. just makes the show better

No cows in this county. 30 minutes from Silver dollar. 10 minutes from Black Hills Circuit. 15 minutes from Atlanta Motor Speedway.
I work with a major parts distributor and the import market has been dwindling pretty bad. Sure we have our H.I.N. and Nopi Nationals, but the average attendee in GA is between 16-24. Not exactly the age where someone can afford to pour money into their vehicle. Therefore, fewer and fewer quality cars. Less excitement at the show :P

(I already knew that tho lol) I can understand why, most of the people I have gotton opinions from about that show can vouch for the fact they are sick and tired of seeing the same shit over and over again. Im glad to see shows like Dub, and some of the smaller ones coming out... they have more variety and they arent fixed and shit like the others. However, I know at the dub show, I know a famous b-ball players bike (that money was just thrown at) beat out a good friends bike...that he did for the sake of remembering a historical event.... I dont agree with that at all.

I went to the show off of tara blvd this weekend and was in a good mood. then i saw a neon green neon with autozone fogs white spray painted wheels and hydros in the back with a molded in front bumper. I turned around got back in my car and went home. I dont think im going to any local shows anytime soon.

I think that back in the day (only a few years) it took some coin to build a bad ass car. Sure, we all started at the bottom building some pretty "ricey" shit but as the scene grew, a few dozen cars rose to the top and made their way into vendor booths and hard to beat car clubs. Their shit was original or one-of-a-kind and people tried their best to build similar cars on a budget.
Along with these high profile, quality built cars came hot models and smokin girls willing to pose half naked infront of a bad ass car just for the shot of getting some magazine coverage or "getting noticed".
So what happened? I think most of the OG's figured out that instead of building a 80K Acura, they can buy a 50K Lex or Benz and put 30K into owning a house. With everyone and their mom making cheap import parts, I think that it's pretty tough to build a real unique show car these days. Most import models have probably moved on to internet porn and coke and their replacments are the short chubby white girls just looking for a ride out of the trailer park.
