Excellent tires! I have them on my S2k right now, 255/35/18 rear and 225/40/18 front. They have gobs of grip and they are excellent in the rain. I am very impressed. Only downside, they are quite noisy. Noise wasn't a factor in my purchasing decision since my car is already loud as hell.

Haha yeah, i won't be able to hear any road noise over my exhaust... :P The kdw2's have gotten rave reviews everywhere i've read about them. I like the tread design too :).

I'm trying to decide weather to go with the 40's or 45's. Right now I have 45's (which are stock). I know less sidewall means stiffer setup but I don't want my wheels looking tiny. Whatcha think?

Go for it man, I really believe these are the next best bang for the buck. Fuk Kumho's. I have much love for the Kumho MX's, but I've heard stories of these tires ripping to shreds out of the middle of no where.

I've had that problem with kumho's before... I won't buy them again.

40's probably wouldn't look that bad. I've noticed the wider the tire, the more sidewall seems to show. My backs are 35's, but they look like a 40 series. Weird how it works. If you plan to lower your car a little bit, it would look good as well.

Awesome. I lowered it last week actually. I need new pics... I hope to do that tomorrow before i leave for the strip.

I would seriously consider Hankook Ventus RS2's if I were you. I haven't drag raced, but I've had these tires on track before and they are absolutely amazing.

When I get my budget together for road racing, I'll be using the Hankook RS2's as rain tires. They own all.

I think you can get them for around $134.00 as per Discount Tire. No doubt you could get them cheaper if you shopped. I've got a couple sets on the way if you'd like to stop by sometime and check them out.

I might have to do that. Thats a really great price... I'd have to talk myself out of liking the tread pattern on the kdw2's tho. It's freakin agressive lookin... I added you on aim, so if you get an IM from some crazy guy named Flipture, thats me ;).

go to NASIOC and do a search for the Hankooks. You will get nothing but rave reviews from some of the best autocrossers and road racers in the country..

the wider the tire the bigger the sidewall. the 35 is the percent of the 245.

say 225/40/18 vs 245/40/18

40% of a 245...is gonna have a bigger sidewall than 40% of a 225 tire.

just a littly fyi :)

HAHA yeah it is awesome. I've become more used to it now and I just can't get enough. I can't count the number of times this week that I had nothing to do or nowhere to go but I just drove in a direction for no reason :). Theres some pretty fun roads around kennesaw connecting neighborhoods and such :).

Yah. It looks like the sidewall on the 225/45's is 101.25 and the sidewall on the 245/40's is 98 so I think thats a minimal enough difference to ignore...
