    Default window tint

    how do you know when your window tint needs to be replaced , to get new tint, or how do you know if its old or not .. because it looks like its purple on the inside .. i have no clue about tint.. thanks

    if its cracking or bubbling up, it needs to be replaced. i dunno about purple. i see it all the time, i think its just cheap tint or a shitty job.

    could be cheap then. get your post count up and get it redone with the IA sponsor. awesome deals that's where i'm going for my tint.

    tint turns purple when it's cleaned with ammonia based products, ie: most Windex and other glass cleaners. I use ONLY Stoner Invisible Glass.

    If it looks bad then don't you think it's time to replace it? Some tint jobs have lifetime warranties if there is still paperwork around...

    hmmm i never knew that. i used windex on my old integ and it never turned purple. guess it takes time to turn it.

    Think it depends on the brand and quality of tint too..some are dyed, some is metallic, etc.

    my tint is metallic i believe SolarGaurd or someshit like that I dunno Barry Wood did it and told me NO ammonia based products. So I have an all purpose cleaner with no ammonia....its like glass cleaner but with viniger(sp) in it instead of ammonia.

    viniger is an acid and not good for film either.

    a good cheap cleaner is some diluted dish soap in a bottle of water. good and safe. never use newspapers to clean tinted glass, it will scratch.
