Tom, I was shooting with a 28-75mm f2.8 yesterday but am picking up a 50mm f1.8 very soon. Have a couple of other lenses (kit & 70-300mm) but want to upgrade those as well. I have a Rebel XT (350D) same as Jaime.

Nice rigs, thanks guys! And sorry Jamie that came across wrong bud, it was truly meant as a complement

For some reason, (and I think it was a factory defect after looking at your results) when I shot with my 350D it seemed to jump focal points very easy (I lost a great money shot with Lance Armstrong from about 20 feet, arggggg), so I switched to shooting a Nikon D70S and the results have been nice. That being said I have a good friend with a sweet 20D setup and had the chance to shot it a few weeks ago with a 100-200 at f2.1, WOW what a lens and body combo I couldn’t believe the results, he also had a 70-200 at 2.8 that was very crisp, I think it will be my next upgrade or possibly the new 30D when I have the 3g to dump into a fresh setup keeping my Nikon. The cool thing about shooting with friends that have different setups is that you can adjust to there settings, and they to yours, then come up with some trick results, let’s get-together guys, give me a yell on your next shoot I love to join ya

Sounds good Tom. Yeah Jaime has that "L" lense that just kicks my butt. I want that lens so bad but have a few other things I need to get first. I sent my 28-75 f2.8 back today to get recalibrated as it seems that it is just a tad out of focus.

I think Jaime and I both want to get some 20D bodies next but kind of waiting to see what Canon is releasing and how they do performance wise. Who knows, maybe I can hit the lottery and pick up a 1DsMKII

I've not had any mechanical issues with my 350D. It always comes back to be "user" error in my case .

I'd really like to step up to the 20D next. I want to stay in the Canon family simply because of the expense I already have into the lenses. I've not shot extensively with Nikon stuff, although I've read extensively about them and they seem to be a very very comparable match for Canon stuff in their respective classes. I read somewhere that one of them, Canon or Nikon...can't remember, is coming out with a new 12MP model that is very very nice. Specs are very impressive.

You need to let me tag along in one of your shoots one day. I'd love to try and learn how the pro's do it.

BTW, it was nice to meet your wife the other night. I'd seen her before, just didn't know she was your wife. Sorry we couldn't hang out longer.
