It's either a drum or a shell catcher. Looks like a drum to me cause the spent shells come out of the top right?

Designed for easy user installation, the Knoxx Sidewinder Conversion Kit is perfect for law enforcement, home defense and competitive sport shooting applications. Also available with a 6-round box magazine, the Sidewinder Conversion Kit system makes reloading as simple as pushing the magazine release and swapping magazines.
This unique system, available for most Mossberg pump shotguns, is easily installed by simply removing the shotgun barrel and forend, unscrewing the factory magazine tube and replacing it with the Sidewinder assembly and forend. Once the barrel is reinstalled, the gun is ready for use. The drum magazine (or optional Box magazine*) slips easily into the magazine well and racking the slide delivers the first 12-gauge shell into the chamber.
*(Also available with a 6-round box magazine, the Knoxx Sidewinder system makes reloading as simple as pushing the magazine release button and swapping magazines. Changing back and forth between buckshot, slug or less-lethal ammunition can be done quickly and positively.)
The Sidewinder is ideal for SWAT or Special Team entry shotguns, less-than-lethal applications and for IDPA Three Gun Match competitors. Anywhere extended capacity and quick reloads are required, the Sidewinder is the perfect solution. Teamed up with the Knoxx COPstock™ recoil-reducing folding stock and a short barrel, the Sidewinder-equipped shotgun can be the ultimate entry or defense weapon.
The Knoxx Sidewinder™ Tactical for Mossberg is a complete kit with one 10-round drum. It accepts 2-3/4 and 3-inch shells. Drum and box magazines are also available separately. Special pricing for law enforcement agencies and officers is available. Order now as demand is skyrocketing.
* The Mossberg ® version of the Sidewinder will fit the following 12-gauge Mossberg ® pump shotguns: 500, 500A, Cruiser, Persuader, 590, 590A1, Maverick 88, and most other versions with dual action bars. All Mossberg ® 590 versions and all 9-shot models will require the purchase of a Knoxx-supplied adapter to complete the conversion, item # KN06108N

fer shizzle....you doing some weapon accessorizing ??!!
that is so much fun. but i'm starting over again soon, i'm getting a .45cal glock. adding the crimson trace internal red dot, tritium sights, hi-cap mags, gonna lighten the trigger pull, and thigh holster i think that'll be it for the glock.
i'll be adding a benelli semi-auto shotgun to the collection too.
and a les baer rifle: the custom thunder ranch rifle

yeap its the knoxx "spec ops" they make some hella nice stuff...only dis advantadge to that is my mossy holds 9 and that only holds 10...so 300 bucks for a 1 more round and a self absorbing stock is not worth it...and also the side cocking piece feels somewhat flimsy at times.
