Default Converting a gas fireplace into a wood burning

I need some information on this. I cant find shit on the web.

I have a gas fireplace, and I want to convert it into a wood fireplace. I havent really went into my fireplace to check and see if it already prepared for that or not. I will tonight though, but I was wondering, anyone have any ideas if it is not. What will I have to do, howmuch will I have to spend...so forth.

All my moves are carefully planned, thanks Kelly. I'll consult with the pros before making any moves. House is too precious to risk it.

basically grab a flashlight, open the flue for the chimney and look up. is it all metal piping? is it rusted/corroded? anything obstructing the chimney at all?

if you answered yes/no/no, congratulations... you can burn whatever you want in there .

couldn't tell ya how to go that way.... we went from wood-burning to gas b/c our firebox is 1.5' by 2' so you couldn't put anything but tiny sticks in it...... it sucks anyways, doesn't give off heat worth a shiet

im not no pro... but wouldnt it be as follows:
just turn the gas off. remove the fake logs and drop a few peices of real wood..[the end]

also couldnt u turn the gas up slightly, just to help you light the real logs.

You could, but some gas fireplaces dont have a big enough hole at the top to let the smoke out, so if your fireplace is burning hard vore, your house will start smoking up..

Thats what happens to mine. Also the fuel (oxygen) for the fire is your warm air in the house. Ends up sucking all the warm air out instead of heating it up.
