They're booing because someone is getting arrested for breaking the law?
(apologize for bad engrish, been awake for a hour)
I'm sure Varsity sees it as a liability, from insurance or Marketing perspective. From insurance, All those cars/bikes/people in one place where someone is doing something stupid, and someone's gonna get hurt. When that person gets hurt, they're gonna sue Varsity. (Here comes the marketing part) That's gonna mean bad headlines, and lost business.
Besides, most people at the meet weren't eating there (which I think the OG's and the bikers were), so while Varsity wasn't making anything for the space they own (and that HAS to be expensive in that part of ATL).
haha damn, I guess my threads came true.

I have to laugh, it was literally like 10 minutes before the "incident" happened that I said to someone "fuck all these bikes, they've ruined the meet. Can't they just go to ther meets and leave this place alone?"....and they proved it a few minutes later. I've never been a fan of the bikes and donk that started infesting and degrading the meets a few years ago. I'm glad the chickenfucker got caught...hope they gave him a baton to the face once they were away from the crowd.
Not like the people that killed this won't move to the other locations and do the same.
So basically what happened was..... biker got caught doing XXX mph on the highway (like they always do), didnt stop for the cops (like they never do), and led them to the varsity on a police chase and attempted to hide in a group of other bikes? Then when the police got to the varsity, they were probably greeted by a bunch of yelling disrespectful teenage douchebags, so the police contacted the varsity owners and asked "hey, why you guys let all these douchebags stay here? do they even buy food or just take up space?" in which the varsity replied... " you know what, i dont know.... lets get rid of these douchebags"
am i close?
The Rif-Raff Donk Driving Hood-Rat Cutlure is Social Herpes to Malls, Car Meets, Night Clubs, etc.
Once they show up, they fester and infect until a remedy is called for. Most respectible enthusiasts will simply avoid the mess and move on.
This is EXACTLY what happened. Though the V probably makes a fair amount of sales on the meet days considering the flow of people. Clearly they've tolerated the Thursday meets for years without having a problem, even when the whole cars doing burnouts thing was happening. But APD rampted up their presence and it stopped and never came back. It's not surprising the bikes fucked it up.
as a biker that was their this guy dosent rep all bikers he was a idiot that dosent deserve the bike he had. and yeah donks did start messing things up and newb bikers that whant to show off. Everyone who has ridden a bike downtown know that they will give us a ticket for anything. personally i liked these meets got some good food and hung out with some friends and see nice cars and bikes.
I cant tell what happened from that video, it's just some guy with a high pitched voice screaming "this shit crazy n%&#@" over and over again.
As a motorcycle enthusiast myself, I can say this is inaccurate. They give tickets for anything if you are stupid as fuck and choose not to follow the rules of the road. Me personally, I tend to follow the rules of the road and often ride slower than most other motorcycle on the road.
Simple fix: Don't break the speed limit and obey road signs.
Goodfellas.
Last time I was there someone knocked the mirror off my Lotus and someone flashed a gun at us and said "someone needs to be shot" when a buddy requested a biker not park inches from his car. Although this meet is the reason I know half the people on this forum, it's probably for the best that this happened.
I'll be honest here, and say that the VAST majority of car enthusiasts I've met under 25 yrs old, are complete immature idiots and assholes. There are some who are good people, down to earth and have a level head, but for some reason in the car community these people are a minority. This might also be a determining factor of why the car scene is crap because the scene is comprised of nothing more than mindless lemmings.
I've only gone a handful of times, but my last time, probably a year ago now, was so packed with dumb people I just decided it wasn't worth my time again. I'm young, but I looked down on my generation. I wish they weren't so retarded. Lol
As another biker i can honestly say that this guy is a pretty fair representation of bikers. There's pretty much two types of bikers. Those who dont stop for police and those who are scared of their bikes. I'm absolutely amazed at how many people just blatantly do not give a fuck about police when theyre on a motorcycle. Youtube it, go to any motorcycle forum...... It's gonna get to a point where cops just have to wage war on motorcycles.
Good food....now that's a stretch
I'm so glad its over... It has fallen to shit in the previous years and has gotten to ghetto for my liking.
I went to my first Varsity meet back in October of 2002. I went to my last Varsity meet that same night.
lol wtf....that bad eh qd?
Haha. I just never did get into that meet for some reason. I did meets everywhere back in those days. But that one, for some reason, I just never did care much for.
Never been to a Varsity meet.
Pretty much anyone i meet that has any racing or stunt riding experience. It's like the rule is, if theyre not close enough to read your tag, dont stop. I'm not saying i agree...... im just voicing an observation
take a glance at the responses in another forum i frequent on this question......
i met up with a new group of bikers when i went to florida, people had the same mentality there and i had at least a dozen people tell me "if you're going over 100 theyre not allowed to chase you, so just do 100+ on the highway and if they do decide to try and stop you, blow by them and get off an exit"

Simple fix - find different people to ride with, and don't let others dictate how you ride.
