There's nothing wrong with spreading awareness about something(of which I have no idea wtf a kony is or what it does or why the cool kids are doing it) but the problem with the general public is that they hear about something from their "homeboy" or a blog and all of a sudden their preaching about this and that like they know it all. It's not even that. The insurgence has died way down in recent years. Where were the slacktivists when this was really a big issue in the 80s and 90s? Kony has been pushed out of Uganda and is thought to be dead anyway. The LRA goes way deeper than just Kony himself. Think Osama bin Laden.

Well CNN ran KONY, mis-informed, uninformed or otherwise. The simple moving of this issue is helpful. I havent given a dollar, but the producer didnt make this for the "fun" of it. He did it for who was affected. That's all. I see many of those uninformed posts as well, but still, if it wasn't for my friend sending me that, I would of never known.

3. Kony did an interview (1st ever) stating that all this was a "propaganda campaign," because he wants and has wanted a change of leadership in Uganda. It appears that Ugandan leaders are not "voted in" by the common citizen. The man wants democracy is what he said, it's that simple.
