Uncomfortable in Wisconsin

I am in Wisconsin for business staying at a Doubletree hotel (stayed here many itme before). Last night someone tried to break into my room. First, he tried to break the lock on the door. Then, he bangged on the door. When I asked who is it, he mumbled some gibberish. I tired to look through the peep hole and he blocked it with his finger. So, I didnt open the door. He stayed at the door for a few minutes and then left. Tried again couple of hours later.

I am think he specifically targeted me since he could have tried any other room and the fact that he tried my room twice, but not sure why.

What should I do if it happens again?

I used to live in Madison, and that hotel is a common drug user hang out and "drunk tank" where the ridiculously drunk/high would stumble in, nobody stopping them, and bang on peoples doors. One guy even was arrested for taking a dump in a potted plant, then puking everywhere, and calling the cops on himself.

Call the police, (x3) and make sure the door stays locked. Even if it isn't that particular hotel.

Yeah its hard to say i mean so many traveling people do get singled out for theft or just murder. Hope everything with you stays safe and id recommend finding a hiding place behind a fridge or maybe under the bedside table for belongings. Only carry on your body your ID and small amount of cash...

Maybe you can go to a party city and rent a police uniform then if they come back open the door and say ...."Come at me Brah"
Also don't be embarrassed to buy a cheap thing of mace and spray it under the door their ass wont stick around long.

While I agree, I carry daily, despite the fact it's against my company's rules (is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6 as they say). Not everyone is in my position... I truly believe I could walk into my work tomorrow, drunk and high and piss on my boss's desk and I would still have a job because they need me that bad.


Not that they wouldn't start making plans to replace me... But it would take time.


Anyway, this thread isn't about me. It's about a guy that is too big of a pussy to cut a guy's head off and leave the dismembered body in and/or around the hotel dumpster.

So yesterday he called me after it happened and was pretty shook about it. So as any good friend would do, I figured I would help... in the form of pwn.

Today when I got out of classes, I head to Rusan to grab some sushi with some friends. We randomly decided to call him to make him even more paranoid. Came up with a semi-believable story about how people are out looking for him. I knew if I called, he'd instantly know its a prank, so I had a friend call. Right after we hung up on this call, he called my phone first for advice LOL. I was of course of no help and probably confused him more, scaring him more, etc.

Made him shit bricks for a few hrs until I told him it was a prank like any good friend would.

TLDR: Bounty hunters / henchmen are after isa2o3

I emailed him the call file and he called me super pissed/relieved HAHAHAH

So A) With no other weapon that what's available in the room, or at best some baseball bat/golf club/knife that you've brought with you and B) Without being able to know what is on the other side of the door because they guy covered the peephole you'd just swing the door open and confront him? What's your plan when you're staring down the business end of a .45?


Being able to open the door with sidearm drawn changes the entire scenario, but in OP's case with no serious weapon it's not a smart decision.
