Default So What Are You Buying in 5 Hours?

I'll be picking up a laptop at Wal-Mart for $378, thinking about getting a new digi cam too.

Every damn place has a laptop for sub $400 this year it seems, but I fucking hate rebates. Best Buy, Circuit City, Micro Center.

What do you guys plan on picking up?

Out of all the $379 Laptop Deals...

Circuity City > BestBuy > Walmart > anyone else

CC's laptop comes with twice the memory, 20gb more hdd space, 1 yr warranty (instead of 90 days), and the TruBrite screen (my favorite upgrade).

All 3 laptops are the same price.

BTW, if you're comming to the BB on Barrett to buy your shit, I hate you. =]

I know... my friends are out there right now. *sigh*

I'll be in the car audio install bay from 3:30am - 2pm or later... doing all the PC customizations that customers want... and I still haven't slept yet.

    What's the most effective energy drink/food out there that'll last for 12 hours? . . . that's legal?

Circuit City - The laptop is NOT $199 its $450 or $380 with the Gift Card deal

    Toshiba L25-S1193
    Celeron M 1.5ghz
    15" XGA TruBrite Screen
    512mb DDR2 ram
    60gb drive (5400rpm)
Graphics Card ATI RADEON® XPRESS 200M
    Wifi
    Half-capacity 4-cell battery (1-1.5 max hour life)
    S-Video TV out
    1 year warranty

The laptop is $199.99 ONLY after you signup for 12 months of AOL. Its $449.99 otherwise. If you want to signup for 12 months of AOL dialup at 24/month the total cost of laptop + AOL will be $488. Here is how you will get it for $380. The laptop is advertised for $450 and you can get $250 off if you sign up for 12 months of AOL. Signup for 12 months of the $15/month AOL for Broad Band plan which will cost you $180 for the year. SO..$450 - $250 AOL sign up + $180 actual cost of the $15/month plan = $380

Enjoy, now GTFO of my BestBuy line, thx. =]

There are no mail in rebates. Everything is instant. Using the $15 per month AOL plan is how you jew the system and walk out the door with paying only $379 + tax for that laptop... absolutely no mail in rebates or gift card crap.

Just trying to get you the best deal on the best laptop on BF. Trust me, if I didn't have work in 2.5 hours, I'd already be in front of CC waiting to buy as many of these as I could.

btw, I service less Toshiba's than I do HP's... and that's for hardware stuff.

That WalMart deal would be the last of the 3 I'd consider, honestly. The HDD is slow as piss and memory is slow as piss. However, it does come with a full capacity 6-cell battery which is nice.

I dunno, it's up in the air for the Wal-Marts vs Circuit City. Best Buy is definitely coming in last place in my book.

Lets get one thing out of the way right now and that is to answer the question of "Who has the best sub $500 laptop deal this Black Friday?"

    Answer in order from

First place : Circuit City - Toshiba L25-S1193 $450 or $380<--will explain later
Second place : WalMart - HP Pavillion ze2308wm $389 (Some may prefer this over the CC laptop)
    Third place : Best Buy - Toshiba L25-S1192 $380

Well we know of all the sub $500 laptops now so heres whats hot and whats not and what you need to know before deciding on which unit to buy. PLUS some unadvertised info that may get you $70 off the Circuit City laptop which IMO is the laptop of choice this BF followed very closely by the WalMart laptop.

    BestBuy $380
    Toshiba L25-S1192
    Celeron M 1.5ghz
15" XGA screen (NOT the TruBrite screen)
Graphics Card ATI RADEON® XPRESS 200M
    256mb DDR2 ram
    40gb hard drive (5400rpm)
    CD-RW/DVD combo
    Wifi
    Half-capacity 4-cell battery (1-1.5 max hour life)
    S-Video TV out
    only 90 day warranty
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Circuit City The laptop is NOT $199 its $450 or $380 with the Gift Card deal<--will explain later
    Toshiba L25-S1193

BTW, one thing that all the crazy fkr's outside BestBuy waiting to buy a laptop don't know is that you can order the fucking laptop online and have it shipped for $20. Comesout to $399 + tax.

Just gotta know how to do it. =]

Generally, all of the "M" processors use much less energy to accomplish tasks than any other processors, including the AMD's. However, the HP @ WalMart comes with a high-capacity 6-cell battery... the Toshiba's come with a half-capacity 4-cell battery which is lame.

That HP comes with DDR memory... the Toshiba comes with twice as much memory and it uses DDR2, much faster.

I suppose its all about what you want.

i hate my fuckign toshiba, its been in for service 5 times, the harddrive wants to go ut, but wont die on me. Makes weird noises nad shit.

But thats my only complaint, i have to reload it every 2 months becuase of hte hard drive, it randomly erases stuff. Other than that however, its a GREAT ocmputer. but it was the 2500 media edition one
