    Default Building a garage?

Just wondering if anyone has ever built a garage?

I'm wanting to build a one car garage in my backyard.. probably like 18' x 20' or something around there. I just want it big enough to park my car in and still have about 5 ft on each side and about 8 feet in front or so.

My friend and I can do all of the framing and stuff.. we are just curious how much it was to have the foundation contracted out.. footings and pouring the concrete and all that?

And if anyone has built one, any pics and total expense amount?

If anyone has any info, i would appreciate it.

    thanx

why don't you call some contractors on monday... doing so would get you more specific info on the project.

it all depends on who you know, I think poured concrete is about $80 p/yard...

    18 x 20 = 360 sq. ft.

    360 x lets say .33 (4") = 118.8 cubic feet @ 4" thick

    27 cubic feet in a yard so 118.8/27 = 4.40

4.40 x $80 = $352.00 + the labor for a couple people to build the footings. I'd say $500-750 depending on the plastic/wire mesh/reinforcing you do in and under the concrete.

I'd love to know how close I am though...

that works great but still have to put it on something or you're still working in the dirt/gravel. I guess you could build a deck to put it on but that would cost more than a concrete pad.
