Just rode thru a "car meet" in Tampa!

I'm REALLY worried that IA has gotten me spoiled.
Dog it if you want, but we're pretty lucky.
I mean, I just rode thru a "meet", in Tampa, and there were some sweet rides, but not many that REALLY excited me, like the cars in Atlanta and at the IA Varsity meets.
Sure, there was an entire row (about 25-30) of Evo's and a few "stand outs", but I'm a Honda guy and there were very few H/A badges that really stood out.
Yes, there was an R33 Skyline and a few sweet S2000's, VW's and IS's, but for every car that caught my attention, I could think of 5-10 around Atlanta that were sweeter!
For me, the REAL STANDOUT of the whole meet was a...wait for it...Nissan Sunny GTi-R hatch!
OMG, it was sweet! One of my ALL TIME FAV hatches and the first I've ever seen in real life!
BUT, it was parked way in the back of the lot, away from the rest of the "meet" like the owner didn't want anybody to see it.
I just drove straight to it, parked in front of it and took in the details! LOL!

The thing is, I'm planning to move to Tampa, within the next year, and I just don't know what I'm gonna do without IA and the Varsity meets.

If ANY OF YOU have "contacts" in the Tampa area, HOOK ME UP!
I'm not looking for anything more than LIKE MINDED people to hang with and network with.
No favors, or anything like that.
Just cool people that are into Imports and part of the "scene" that I've been into for over 25 years (Yes, over 25 years. I'm 40).

I mean, my friends from home can come and visit, but who am I gonna ride with to meets?
Who am I gonna "wrench" with, on the week ends?

Give me some "feedback" if you know ANYTHING about the Tampa area!
Places to "hang" and "meet".
Places to eat.
Best beaches.

No contacts, but Clearwater beach is the spot down there.. St Pete is a nice place too!! I lived by Tampa Bay Downs when I was younger, Rode my JetSki to Clearwater beach cause that was the place to be, I was much younger then (12)...lol, I haven't been back since.. Plan to take my son there once he is a little older.. Back then I do remember talk about the hwy which I see in street racing video's all the time now..LOL

Even if I liked the V-Meets, it wouldn't be enough to keep me from moving to Florida. Or even missing the V-Meets. And ImportAtlanta.com is just that.....a dot com. Luckily, you don't have to be in Atlanta to be on here. Later, QD.

I agree. Last time I attended V meet was about 2 years ago, lame. Took me like 2 hours to find a parking space, and even when you try to pull out and leave, nobody moves out of the way, Those are the small things that bothered me.

tamparacing.com its pretty much the IA of that area. I grew up in Tampa many many many moons ago but things have changed a lot. It may not be the greatest thing out there, BUT IT'S THERE!

I can't wait to move down there, I'm just hoping I can get some "heads up" on where "my kind of ppl" are.

It amazes me that so many ppl talk shit about the V meets, but it's still packed, every time I go.

And, to answer silversol's question...I was just disappointed with the caliber of cars that were at the meet. IMO, They just didn't come close to the cars we have in Atlanta.

The Varsity also sucks monkey balls, unless you like Civics and 240s.
