When a Honda is the only thing you can afford you tend to create this fantasy world in your mind that they're actually relevant in the world of performance, mainly due to hp/L.

Ok fine u spend at least $5,600 a yr on gas driving a v8. Why not get a 4cyl and save on gas and still have a reasonably quick car (swapped) that gets high 20's mpg.

Even cheaper and more simple - get a cheap beater and get good gas mileage, and get a V8 car to build.

i agree... there's a guy around the corner from me and he's done it right lol. Owns three cars.

95 Integra GSR = said he paid $3k for the car, $2k to restore it, and is the DD

01 Stang = paid $7k for it, and the bottom line is a V8 Price/Power ratio is the best out there.

10 Audi = to pull the ladies lol...

Power per dollar, Honda and any other imports suck, I know bc I build em when I have the spare cash. Even mine has over $20K in parts alone over 3 years. Had I have bought an older mustang, camaro, or even a gran national, I could dump 1/3 of the cost into it, and had WAAAAAAY more power.

but you'll never catch a honda in the turns

I've never found a FWD that could keep up with my old FB on the track or in the mtns. I never should have sold that car.

Why are you still trying to tell people how to spend their money? What business is it of yours?

Anyways, do you even know how much MPGs the new V8s some manufacturers are putting out?

I still get about 26mpg on the highway out of boost. So whats your point?

i have to agree and kinda disagree.

whatever anyone wants to do with their own paycheck is on them, i agree there bub.

I haven't heard of any of the new V8's getting very good gas mileage, and they all average around 385-400whp from the factory. Although the new V6 mustang is impressive as hell and I think it's the best power per dollar and still maintaining the factory driveability and warranty out there, for about $26-$28K you can also have a realiably boosted 400-450whp 4cy that still gets 32mpg's on the highway. The 2006-2011 Civic Si gets great gas mileage, and most of us that are boosted on the 6262 turbo's or the GT30/GT35R's are getting great gas mileage too. And I've had my car for 90K miles now and it's been boosted since 40K. No issues with longevity since i"m only running 12-14psi, and only 8psi on the streets daily.

but I thought this thread had turned into the whole "BMW vs. GTO" fight?!?! where'd that go? lol...

The new Coyote 5.0 in the new 2012 Mustangs get 26mpgs highway.

And I used to own a boosted 4 banger WRX, and it got no better gas mileage than my current boosted V8.

And sorry even if in some fantasy world it got 35mpg, I would sacrifice 5-10mpg for the driving experience. Hands down.

You people think that we get 5mpg or some shit driving around and have to fill up every 100 miles?

    easy killer...

and yea, when you look at the domestic's gas mileage from the old school way of making engines, gas mileage was crap compared to now.

but I think all of us here are into performance anyways, so.... you gotta pay to play and if people are worried about gas mileage, DON'T mod your car, whether it's a V8, 4Cy, or a scooter.

I spend about 2000 a year on gas and I daily my stang. Its not stock and runs pretty well and sees some spirited driving in every tank. I still get low 20's mpg. I dont know what kinda v8's you think we drive......We dont drive a 76 Buick Electra station wagon.....I drive a 2004 mach 1. I had a 4 banger..a few actually...and they ran low 12's and a few had no a/c, none had leather power seats, or power windows or really any luxury. I basically had a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff in a $500 shell......but hey.....I got 30mpg! Fuck that I would rather get 20 mpg and have a nice car that does not suck because whether you wanna admit it or not your turbo Honda sucks...even if it runs 12's and gets 30 mpg. Ive been there and done that many times and thought it was the best thing ever...then I bought mustang and with bolt ons I run 12's on shitty hard aqua treads with a 3600+lb race weight.

Power to weight, 30mpg, reliability...blah blah blah...you can have it...for over 2 years I have beat on my car and it always performs. I have changed the oil and put gas in it....and enjoyed ice cold a/c, and no funny smells because its not a 15-20 year old shit box and lets exhaust fumes in. Im not onn to hate on other brands of cars usually but this is one of those rare times when I will. I like all cars...if it can be made fast I like it and I respect a fast import...but to be so ignorant as to think that all v8's are the same as there ancient gas guzzling carburated ancestors is fucking retarded..get with the times man. its 2011 now..v8's get 20-30mpg and are as reliable as any honda on the road.

Hondas don't handle that well....it's a ricer illusion. Any car making the same hp as a lawnmower will take turns decently, throw some real power at it and enjoy the extreme torque steer and the tree it makes you hit.

It's all relative. Now if I (just for argument's sake) drove a Mustang that's as big as pontoon boat and heavier than the Queen Mary's Bow Anchors... No, a 225 would not be enough.

My Mustang weighs 3390lbs without me in it. Dont really consider that an anchor. And sorry, my car is larger than your Miata.... but I dont feel like im going to have guys hitting on me when I roll around downtown with the top down and my hair blowing in the wind with Celine Dion playing.

hey, we're comparing HOnda's and V8's! lol... bro, nothing handles like ANY RX-7 and nothing handles like any 240. Both we and probably are the best balanced cars ever made at an affordable price.

define real power? 400? 500? I'm in between and I have no issues turning. I run 235 tires all around, and it's called "camber" and you'll be fine in corners.
