well....at first , i wanted to do all go...but i really didn't see how good that would do me unless i was at the track everyday, street raced, or liked gettin tickets for speeding...so now im show/sum go....so im stuck in between with thsi answer

cool. i was gonna do the show car thing but i came to my senses. i liek looking at show cars but the competition is pointless. ill hold my point until more ppl respond. i dnt knock show cars but i will never build one to compete in shows with.

true, i actually dont even build it for shows...i just wanna build it to where i can look at it everyday and not snare cause i dont like the way it looks...and where people can reconize me around town...i just go to car shows for fun and hang out with my homies

Honestly, Id like to have both. I dont want a shitty looking car that runs 12s all day, yet I dont want a badass looking car that runs 18s all day either! I see a lot of show cars today and a lot of the things look stupid.

im takling about the "if you gonna go, go all out cars". like the ndra cars have pimp paint jobs and straight bodys and the show cars have everythign u can think of at the time on and in them.

i tried both approaches.... the Silvia (all speed with some body work but no solid color so yeah only speed) and my Spec V (a few bolt ons but still not speedy but all show) I'm going to say i'd rather run 13's and look pretty....

I personally like what Nemesis said. I like a car that has enough to be respected (not be top dawg necessarily) by both sides.

I'm by far not the only one at all. There are several cars that would fit the category of having elements of both. I know some ECI, Elite, IA, folk that have some go (some have lots of go) in their show cars or show quality cars. I respect that. It's not easy to do that. Even harder when you consider some of those cars get pushed hard sometimes and some are daily drivers.

Both sides deserve props.

The people that don't deserve props are the haters. I've seen so many people at shows talk trash about how "they'd" do this different and that different. Well you know what? Whenever they have their own $10K to invest in a custom made turbo kit for their car, they can have the downpipe coming out their ass if they wanted to.....mine's going where I want it to. You know what I mean?

I find something in just about every car, show or go, that I like. Sometimes it's small, sometimes it's all of it.

I am very very bitter. I was already a little bitter, this just made it worse. Now everytime I see a five dollar civic I want to spit on it. I'll be all right when I can drive my truck and rail on every ricer I see.

There needs to be a subtle mix between the two. I don't care if your car can run 10s, if it has a primered front end I am not impressed. Also, I couldn't less if you have lambo doors and huge wheels, if you can't get better than a 17 sec in the 1/4, you might want to consider some power mods.

Read it again. What I meant was I don't want a show car with $10K of body work that I'm don't want to drive because I'm afraid of messing it up.

i like cars that are purpose built... a car doesn't have to be pretty to be fast, and vice-versa. the thing I don't like are cars that are overdone or cars that seem to serve a certain purpose but never get used as such (kinda like a dyno-queen supra). functionality is the name of my game, the rest is just dead weight

my turn. i would never build a show car bc it pisses me off when ppl spend g's on paint, body, ice, power adders and everything else to never really drive the car. all this stuff they put on cars just to trailer it around to shows and wait for a group of idiots to determine whether or not the rules like ur car. what kinda of enjoyment do you get out of that. the price on parts are sky rocketting bc all these show mofos are buying everything up just so they can get extra points in a show. i got a 62-1 turbnetic ballbearing turbo on my car and ive never revved it to 6000rpm and prolly never will. or i made 8 million hp on the dyno once and i got 13 billion dollars in ice and body mods but my tires are flat spotted bc i dnt drive it.
