I just finished reading up on V Bulletin which is the software used to make this site. The costs add up quickly. I have completed blueprinting IA though.

If this site was to go under, I have got the layout of the site saved to my computer. That way another could be made that is in similar style and function. Basically copy the shit I am allowed to legally, then use it as a blueprint to make a new site. The programs you buy from V Bulletin is Just under $300 for the Suite edition, and then you have to buy according to the number of forums.

Have you ever built a site?

I can make a site+a forum just like this one, even better one for 0 bucks down, and 19.99 or so for server. Sites like these are easiest thing to make, it's the members that are hard to get.

i agree. if you dont get your site out there nobody is going to know about it. then when u get the ppl on there. you have to find a way to keep them on there. ive been to some sites where they have 2000 members but only liek 200 members are active. i think thats why alot of sites shut down.
