naah what i was saying was i dont see nothin wrong with yoru decision ( cause the 2 cars you picked were up for nomination and alot of people said they should be in)...and january's decision( Johns Eclipse and the black g35) were cars that were very expressed that should be in teh calendar...as for some other months that were chosen....i dont remember seeing those cars even mention....some of the cars picked were cause they are friends or what have you...i mean even tho Josh is your man and all, he still has atight car that was voiced to be in the calendar...

so to summarize: Lauren, your decision is A-oK

OK guys, This is a first run calender and the girls are choosing the cars that got the most recommendations. The girls that are posing with their own cars, well damn it is their choice since THEY are the ones in the calender. I know Red's supra is very nice and Leanne's might not be that special but it is HER car. The girls that chose to pose with their own cars have that right and I would prefer to see them with their own cars as I had some other guys car. The only thing I have a problem with is it being only one car, I think if you have a majority of months with two cars then they should all have two cars. So just let it go and we will get a first run calender done and look at doing the next years calender.

The only thing I will say is it is going to be fun shooting Jaime and Josh's cars. Talk about contrasting colors to work with in a photo

I agree fully about the 2 cars...that will make everyone happy...

And are you being sarcastic or not about the second statement?

I am being serious. The lighting is going to have to be exactly right to capture the lines and detail of jaime's car while not blowing out josh's. It can be done and it makes it a little easier when you have PS but setting it up in a good location is going to be key.

Which brings me to another point, now that the cars and girls are being chosen and things are progressing. Where are we going to do the shoots at? Location and time of day are going to be key.

Yea...I have no idea where I'd want it to be. I'm leaving that up to the photographer. I'm just worrying about the attire at this point, because I was informed it has to go with the month...so, Valentine's it'll be! Yay!

I was under the impression that all the shoots will be at different locations at different times.

You would not be able to get the details and capture the lines of each car in a group photo. Take the G35 for example, that is a hard car to shoot since it is black but put it in the right location in the late afternoon/early morning and you can pull off an amazing shot that captures all the lines and details of the car.

I dunno. I am very honered that people nominated my car and I appreciate it.

However, I don't get all the crticism on the calander or the cars. I think there is a nice variety of cars.

You can't make everybody happy all the time. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Or if you would rather see different cars or different girls, work on your own calander that has the cars or girls you think should be in.

This is the first time they are trying to do this. Therefore, the first calander may not be the best, but it is a learning process. The criticism people have on this is ridiculous. That just my 2 Cents.

I would think so but you have to watch the time of day. Daylight hours are the worst to shoot in. Danny and Jaime can attest to this. It is best to have a couple of photographers (jaime and myself, Danny and another person, maybe 2 more) that could go to different locations to shoot and you could knock out 3 at a time using the ideal light (early morning/late afternoon-sunset).

just an idea for you guys... how about you just do to runs of the calendar? 24 cars 12 girls... each girl poses on 2 cars... only reasoning is some of the cars posted are black which is absolutly the best color but the worst to shoot specially next to other bright cars... you don't want some cars washed out b/c of color, so it may be better to shoot them seperately then, chicks can wear different outfits

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe have the month with two photos and the girls could have different outfits and that way the light cars would not get washed out.

I can't believe what an uproar people are getting in over some pointless shit. Who cares? The girls should be able to pose with what they want.

You don't see me bitching and moaning because my CRX wasn't brought up. Who cares? I don't.

Also as far as the photographers go There have been 5 people who have either requested to take pics or I have been told they SHOULD be taking the pics.. and as long as the 5 people agree... These are them:
Paul, Walker, Matt (ga_teg), George (Nemesis), and Jamie (Jamiecbr900)

no one is getting mad or upset, people are just bringing up valid points about the calender. Now imagine if you were'nt an importatlanta member and you picked this calender up. People will see it and wonder how or why the cars on there were choosen or picked. If you want to represent atlanta, reprensent it in a big way.

shit i could care less whos car was on the calender but im just saying if your going to represent atlanta pick the top cars.Im not going to single out any cars but there are some of the cars i look at that just dont do it for me. And were picked just from popular vote or friendships, thats just not fair to all the members on ia that have put a little more time and effort and dont have too may friends on here.

not to my knowledge, no poll just "nominees"

but a fair way would be to put a poll on the homepage with like 20+ or so nominees so everyone can view it, not just importatlanta members. So everyone gets a fair trial.

shit i could care less whos car was on the calender but im just saying if your going to represent atlanta pick the top cars.Im not going to single out any cars but there are some of the cars i look at that just dont do it for me. And were picked just from popular vote or friendships, thats just not fair to all the members on ia that have put a little more time and effort and dont have too may friends on here.
Its a freaking first run calender made basically for the members of IA. This is in no way a representation of the Atlanta Scene. If you want something like that then put it together and we can arrange some people to shoot it but until then, let it go. Ren is working to try and put this together and it seems that she is doing a good job so far and I am sure we can put one out for 2007 with the best of Atlanta cars if that is something you would like to help her put together.

but a fair way would be to put a poll on the homepage with like 20+ or so nominees so everyone can view it, not just importatlanta members. So everyone gets a fair trial.

Sort of.. as I said from the begining I wanted to let the girls choose the cars they wanted to pose with.. and then I got bitched at for that.. So I did a nomination thread and out of the cars that are IN the calendar... they were the top nominated and MOST of them were picked over and over again...

Im not trying to be a bitch but this is the first year.. There are still a few cars to be picked... if you dont have anything nice to say... dont say it.. No one is going to agree with my shit 100%.. Wait till its done and then start to cretique me...until then... relax..

I think you're doing an excellent job It's hard to get everyone on the same page about something like this. Especially when people's tase on women and cars vary so much.
