    Default Orionid Meteor Shower tonight...

The best time to watch will be between 1 a.m. and dawn local time Wednesday morning, regardless of your location. That's when the patch of Earth you are standing on is barreling headlong into space on Earth's orbital track, and meteors get scooped up like bugs on a windshield.

Peak activity, when Earth wades into the densest part of the debris, is expected around 6 a.m. ET (3 a.m. PT).

    Check it out. Later, QD.

That's some cool info. Hopefully I will be able to see something. I think someone (who will be up at that time) who has a good professional camera, should take some pics and post them up. I would love to see them

It has actually been circulating in the scientific community for quite some time that perhaps space is the object that is moving. With the dimensions of space/time and the infinitely expanding universe smaller objects such as meteors can change direction or accelerate by making use of the law of conservation of linear momentum and can perhaps stay at a constant speed while traveling through space/time at quicker rates as both the object and space travel simultaneously. So in fact, meteors do not get scooped up like bugs on a windshield.

Have fun watching the meteor shower though.

Wouldn't that be IN THEORY since it isn't really a fact?

Lolol. I check often on astronomy and astrology sites and all kinds of other celestial shite for meteor showers. I know the big winter "show" is coming in two months, so I'll be waiting for that as well. Later, QD.

I wish I could have gone further out into the country, but I probably would have got lost if I tried.

Yup. I was outside for around 30-45 minutes and I saw maybe 5 (still a decent amount of light pollution where I was), and most were out of the corner of my eye. I was lucky enough to see two good ones in the middle of my field of view, but got too cold to hang around longer. Also, more cars were driving by where I was and their lights were messing with my vision.
